  • Patent number: 8641343
Abstract: Threaded connectors for securing a structure such as a post or pole to a support are disclosed. In one embodiment, an anchor has a passageway that is threaded for at least a portion of its length. An elongate connecting member has a relatively wide central section and threaded first and second sections extending from opposite sides of the central section. The first section is threadable into the passageway to secure the connecting member to the anchor. The connecting member is formed with a turning formation at its outer end so that it can be engaged with a turning tool in order to thread the connecting member into or out of the passageway. A nut is part of the connector and can be threaded onto the second section in order to secure the structure. Another version of the connector has a flanged nut having a flange spaced from the outer end of the nut, which is threadable onto a threaded connecting member.

  • Publication number: 20130277514
Abstract: An adjustable angle connector for connecting two framing elements end-to-end. The connector includes connector members pivotably connected together. Anchor members capable of being secured within the framing pieces are attached to respective connector members using fasteners that adjustably secure the connector members and corresponding anchor members a fixed distance apart. The fasteners may be tightened to draw together the framing pieces into a secure end-to-end connection.

  • Publication number: 20130270253
Abstract: An ice protection system comprises deicing zones each including an envelope defining an ice-protection area. Adjacent envelopes have spanwise edge regions flanking shared interzone borders. The edge regions are provided with nonlinear contours having features which project-and-recess in a direction generally parallel to the airstream direction.

  • Publication number: 20110073823
Abstract: A kit and a connector are provided for constructing a fence or barrier. The kit can include upper and lower rails formed with bar-connecting holes distributed along their lengths. First and second bar sections together with the rails can be used to form a fence panel. The first bar sections are mounted between and connect the upper and lower rails and extend between aligned pairs of holes in the upper and lower rails. The second bar sections are connectable to the tops of the first bar sections and each is mountable on the upper rail so as to extend upwardly from one of the holes in this rail. Upper connecting mechanisms join the first bar sections to the second bar sections. Lower connecting mechanisms join the first bar sections to the lower rail at the holes formed therein.

  • Publication number: 20060110211
Abstract: A system for releasable engagement of two bodies where one of the bodies deforms the other body during the engagement process. The system includes a first body having an engagement surface that is made from a pseudo-elastic mater pseudo-elastic material is maintained at an operating temperature that is above the martensite-austenite transition temperature for the material. The second body has an indenter surface that contacts the pseudo-elastic material and exerts sufficient stress to convert the material from the relatively hard austenite state to the relatively soft martensite state wherein the material conforms to the indenter shape. Upon release of the indenter contact stress, the pseudo-elastic material changes back to its original shape.
