  • Publication number: 20240088672
Abstract: A power inverter assembly including first and second power inverter units configured to receive power from at least one energy source, and a portable structural platform to support the units. The units each have a terminals for connection to an electric power system, a solar panel arrangement, and a DC energy storage subsystem. The units are coupled to the platform. The first unit has a first pre-set AC power rating having a first maximum AC power output value for output to the power system and the second unit has a second pre-set AC power rating having a second maximum AC power output value for output to the power system to provide the assembly with a total maximum power output rating based on a combined total of the first and second pre-set AC power ratings. The energy source can include the power system, the solar panel arrangement, and the storage subsystem.

  • Publication number: 20240014775
Abstract: A cable management system for managing cables associated with an array of solar modules includes a body having an interior surface extending vertically, a lower flange extending directly from the interior surface of the body, and a cable management flange extending directly from the interior surface of the body above the lower flange. The cable management flange and the lower flange define a cable cavity therebetween for retaining at least one cable. Distal ends of the lower flange and the cable management flange define an opening for inserting the at least one cable into the cable cavity. The cable management flange is arranged to engage the at least one cable and secure the at least one cable in the cable cavity. The cable management flange is flexible to accept and retain the at least one cable.

  • Patent number: 11817818
Abstract: A module frame includes a body having an interior surface, a lower flange extending from the interior surface of the body, and a cable management flange extending from the interior surface of the body. The lower flange and the cable management flange each include a distal end. The cable management flange and the lower flange define a cable cavity therebetween for retaining at least one cable. The distal ends of the lower flange and the cable management flange define an opening for inserting the cable into the cable cavity. The cable management flange is arranged to engage the cable and secure the cable in the cable cavity.

  • Publication number: 20160118933
Abstract: Alternating current (AC) photovoltaic (PV) modules are described. In one example, an AC PV module includes a PV panel (100) having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a plurality of sides extending between the top surface and the bottom surface, a frame (104) adjacent the plurality of sides of the PV panel, a junction box (204) attached to the bottom surface of the PV panel, an inverter (214) adjacent the bottom surface of the PV panel, and at least one direct current (DC) conductor (206) extending from the junction box to the inverter. The DC conductor is prevented from contacting the frame and/or other grounded metal.

  • Publication number: 20160079907
Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to methods of assembling an alternating current (AC) photovoltaic (PV) module, including a direct current (DC) PV module and a micro-inverter, at an assembly location. One example method includes assembling the AC PV module by mechanically attaching and electrically grounding the micro-inverter to the DC PV module, testing a DC electrical continuity between the DC PV module and the micro-inverter, and labeling the AC PV module as compliant with a code or standard.

  • Patent number: 7574842
Abstract: Rectangular photovoltaic (PV) modules are mounted on a building roof by mounting stands that are distributed in rows and columns. Each stand comprises a base plate and first and second different height brackets attached to opposite ends of the base plate. Each first and second bracket comprises two module-support members. One end of each module is pivotally attached to and supported by a first module-support member of a first bracket and a second module-support member of another first bracket. At its other end each module rests on but is connected by flexible tethers to module-support members of two different second brackets. The tethers are sized to allow the modules to pivot up away from the module-support members on which they rest to a substantially horizontal position in response to wind uplift forces.
