Abstract: In accordance with a slot-type game, symbols are generated and displayed, preferably in a plurality of reel-type columns. Upon the occurrence of a triggering event preferably comprising receipt of a special symbol in each of a first and second column of the symbols, the player is provided an input opportunity. The symbols in the columns containing the special symbols are treated as wild. The player is provided the opportunity to keep or move/change the symbols of the remaining columns, such as by moving the symbols of a particular column up or down by one or more discrete positions, or by randomly replacing the symbols of a column by “respinning.” A player may be provided a second such opportunity including the opportunity to move/change the symbols back to their original state, in an attempt to form one or more winning combinations of symbols.

Abstract: A slot-type game provides the opportunity to receive or form combinations of winning slot symbols as well as cards forming poker card combinations. In particular, slot-type, non-playing card symbols are displayed along with playing card symbols. Winning results occur if particular combinations of slot symbols and/or playing card symbols are received. In one embodiment, winning combinations of slot symbols must be located along active paylines, while winning combinations of playing card symbols may occur anywhere in the group of symbols. A respin feature permits a player to replace one or more symbols in an additional attempt to obtain winning results.
