  • Patent number: 8926011
Abstract: A dental patient seating apparatus includes a dental chair having a chair body with a head rest receiving slot therein. The dental patient seating apparatus also includes a head rest having a head support to receive a patient's head thereagainst, and a coupling projection extending downwardly from the head support to be received in the head rest receiving slot for coupling to the dental chair. The dental patient seating apparatus includes a tool staging arm coupled to the head support.

  • Patent number: 7530810
Abstract: A dental implantation system is for securing a dental prosthesis in a patient's jawbone including an alveolar bone, a basal bone adjacent the alveolar bone, and a neurovascular bundle running through the jawbone. The dental implantation system may include a dental implant fixture having an elongate shape and including an upper portion to be positioned in the alveolar bone to receive the dental prosthesis and defining a first axis. The dental implant fixture may also include a lower portion to be positioned in the basal bone and defining a second axis. The dental implant fixture may further include an intermediate offset-defining portion between the upper portion and the lower portion to define an offset between the first axis and the second axis so that the lower portion avoids the neurovascular bundle.

  • Publication number: 20040161725
Abstract: A dental implantation system for securing a dental prosthesis to a patient's alveolar ridge may include a dental implant fixture and a dental implant support. The dental implant fixture may be positioned in the patient's alveolar ridge and have an upper end to receive the dental prosthesis. The dental implant support may connect to the dental implant fixture in a laterally spaced apart relation therefrom and against the alveolar ridge. The dental implant support may include a first support member and a second support member connected to the first support member. The dental implant support may alternately include a support member and connected thereto a loop that extends into the patient's alveolar ridge to receive the dental implant fixture. The dental implant support also may include a fastener extending into the patient's alveolar ridge to connect to the dental implant fixture.

  • Patent number: 4066299
Abstract: Each car on a freight train is equipped with what is called a brake control valve. This valve is in the automatic air brake system and causes the air brake on the individual car to be applied when the pressure in the main brake pipe which runs throughout the train is reduced by the engineer or by any other cause. Sometimes, the brake control valve will malfunction, thereby causing it to go into the emergency brake position, either during normal service braking or at other times. When it goes into the emergency position, the brake pipe opens to the atmosphere and the resulting sudden reduction in pressure at that point causes all of the brake control valves on the train to go into emergency position causing a full emergency brake application throughout the train. With long trains, quickly finding the malfunctioning brake control valve is quite a chore.
