  • Patent number: 4560126
Abstract: A conduit support bracket useful in supporting conduit, cable, piping or the like, especially above a dropped ceiling is disclosed. The conduit support bracket comprises a strip of rigid material having engaging means extending from one end to securely engage a T-bar, fixture or other support structure. This engaging means is preferably provided by a plurality of prongs bent and rebent in oppositely inclined directions. The conduit support bracket further comprises a plurality of deformable tabs extending from the opposite end of the rigid strip. At least one of these deformable tabs is shaped to form a channel between itself and the remaining tabs. This channel is of sufficient size and strength to support the conduit or the like. The remaining deformable tabs are of sufficient length to securely hold the conduit in place when deformed, preferably manually, at least partially around the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4459736
Abstract: A shim for adjusting the fit of an electrical receptacle, switch or the like with the exposed surface of the surrounding wall is disclosed. The shim most preferably comprises a generally C-shaped piece of rigid material having a plurality of shimming and connecting surfaces defining a central opening. Most preferably the shim is characterized by two diametrically located shimming surfaces having concave interior edges and connected by a single connecting surface. This configuration provides shimming surfaces having increased shimming areas, while provided a shim which is easily installed and adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4445303
Abstract: A concrete insert suitable to provide an anchor in a concrete slab is disclosed. This insert provides an especially suitable anchor for hanging objects from a poured concrete floor in multi-story construction. The concrete insert comprises a plurality of anchoring surfaces suitable for engaging the concrete slab, a coupling means suitable for coupling an object to the insert anchor and means for increasing the engaging force exerted by the anchoring surfaces when an increased force is applied by the anchored object through the coupling means. The concrete insert anchor most preferably employs a curved distorting surface adjacent and convex to one end of the anchoring surfaces. Force applied to this distorting surface through the coupling means exerts an outward force at its ends, thus forcing the adjacent ends of the anchoring surfaces into stronger engagement with the surrounding concrete and increasing the engaging force exerted thereon.
