    Abstract: While a video stream is loaded, a subtitle information file is simultaneously loaded for displaying messages at accurate times. When contents of the video stream are required to be edited, such as an addition or deletion of video, a time variance caused by the edited video stream is first calculated, and the times for displaying the messages upon the displayed video stream are correspondingly edited according to the calculated time variances so that the messages may be accurately matched with the video stream. After the contents of the video stream require no further editing, the video stream may be combined with the messages by encoding. Therefore, image quality of the video stream is minimized.

The inventive apparatus includes a playback engine, a pre-fetch engine, a rendering engine, and a drawing engine. The playback engine sends a pre-fetch requirement and a playback requirement. The pre-fetch engine receives the pre-fetch requirement, obtains frame data according to the pre-fetch requirement, and stores it in a pre-fetch buffer. The pre-fetch engine also adjusts the drop rate of related conditions of the frame data. The rendering engine obtains frame data, decodes, and filters the frame data. The drawing engine outputs the frame data.

    Abstract: A system and method for extracting data from recording media scan a recording media so that a plurality of key frames and a plurality of time intervals can be extracted, wherein each of the plurality of key frames and each of the plurality of time intervals correspond to one of the scenes in the recording media. Afterwards, at least one selected key frame can be acquired. Eventually, a multimedia file can be outputted according to the selected frame. By acquisition of the plurality of key frames, the present invention allows of processing only key frames such that the amount of information needed processing can be reduced. Not all frames of the desired scenes are extracted from the recording media until a user output a multimedia file, so that the processing time for extracting data from the recording media can be concentrated in outputting multimedia files.

The rendering engine receives the preview requirement, obtains frame data from files according to the preview requirement and the source frame grades, and transfers the frame data into preview files.
