The commands are issued to the clusters, with each command specifying a physical address that identifies a cache line to be flushed.

    Abstract: A wireless device and a random access method thereof for a mobile communication system are provided. The mobile communication system defines a plurality of preambles and a plurality of preamble subsets. Each preamble subset includes a part of the preambles and the union of the preamble subsets is all of the preambles. The preamble subsets have a set inclusion relationship therebetween, i.e., the larger preamble subset includes the smaller preamble subset. The wireless devices have priority levels and the wireless devices with different priority levels can use different groups of preamble subsets. When performing the random access procedure, the wireless device selects a preamble from the smallest preamble subset corresponding to its priority level. Afterwards, when the request for random access fails, the wireless device sequentially selects a preamble from the larger preamble subset.

When a processor core goes offline, the offline processor core is mapped to a mapped processor core, which is selected from an emulated processor core and one or more online processor cores among the multiple processor cores. When the multicore processor system receives a system call that is sent from a requestor to the offline processor core to request for system information from the offline processor core, the system call is re-directed to the mapped processor core. The computing system can transition a target processor core from an active mode into a clearance mode according to a system policy. The system policy determines the number of processor cores to be in the active mode. The transitioning into the clearance mode includes the operations of migrating work from the target processor core to one or more other processor cores in the active mode in the computing system; and removing the target processor core from a scheduling configuration of the computing system to prevent task assignment to the target processor core.
