It covers a findings of the structure of an active compound that is present in the active fraction, an isolation method that can be used to extract the active fractions and a specific active compound, and the use of "H1-A", one specific active compound that is present in the active fractions thus isolated, to ameliorate the clinical symptoms and renal lesions in laboratory mice with induced IgA nephropathy (Berger's disease). This work has important pharmacological implications for the suppression of activated mesangial cells and IgA nephropathy in humans.
