  • Patent number: 8675581
Abstract: A wireless communication device for eliminating performance degradation of a packet-switched (PS) data service. The device comprises a processor configured to receive a request to perform the PS data service with a first subscriber identity card, reduce a plurality of scheduled monitoring tasks associated with a second subscriber identity card, and perform the PS data service with the first subscriber identity card while using the reduced plurality of scheduled monitoring tasks to maintain mobility or receive network messages with the second subscriber identity card.

  • Publication number: 20130252614
Abstract: A communications apparatus includes a processor coupled to at least one RF transceiver and at least one baseband processing device and capable of communicating with a first wireless network belonging to a first RAT and a second wireless network belonging to a second RAT having a higher data transmission throughput than the first RAT. A first processor logic unit of the processor performs an enhanced cell search procedure via the RF transceiver to find one or more cell(s) belonging to the second RAT having stronger signal strength and/or better signal quality than a predetermined threshold, which are not included in a broadcast neighbor cell list. A second processor logic unit of the processor determines a suitable cell from among the cell(s) and performs a cell reselection procedure to camp on the suitable cell.

  • Patent number: 8200225
Abstract: A communication apparatus has at least one radio transceiver module, a first subscriber identity card and a second subscriber identity card, where the first subscriber identity card corresponds to a first public land mobile network (PLMN), and the second subscriber identity card corresponds to a second PLMN. The communication apparatus includes processor logic determining whether the first PLMN and the second PLMN are the same, and for suspending a measurement procedure and a cell reselection procedure of one of the first subscriber identity card and the second subscriber identity card to reduce battery power consumption. Processor logic further triggers an unsuspended measurement procedure to tune the radio transceiver module to a plurality of corresponding channel frequency/frequencies of the neighbor cells.

  • Patent number: 8195234
Abstract: A method for sharing a mobility status in a mobile station with a first subscriber identity card and a second subscriber identity card is provided. The mobility status indicating the movement extent of the mobile station is obtained by the first subscriber identity card being currently camping on a first cell of a first network operator. Settings corresponding to a mobility-dependent procedure for the second subscriber identity card being currently failure to camp on any second cell of a second network operator are configured, thereby enabling the mobility-dependent procedure to be performed with consideration of the obtained mobility status.
