  • Patent number: 5788563
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing chain-like food products such as sausages or the like includes a stuffing nozzle over which a natural intestine is fitted and a pinching device for pinching and conveying a stuffed natural intestine in the forward direction of the stuffing nozzle. A stuffing material is discharged from a distal end of the stuffing nozzle into a straightened natural intestine portion of the natural intestine to form a stuffed natural intestine portion. The stuffed natural intestine portion is nipped, and is pulled as it is moved forwardly of the distal end of the stuffing nozzle to reduce the diameter of the straightened natural intestine portion so as to cause the straightened natural intestine portion to come into contact with an outer periphery of the stuffing nozzle. The stuffing nozzle with which the straightened natural intestine portion is brought into contact is rotated to rotate the stuffed natural intestine portion.

  • Patent number: 5197915
Abstract: In the suspending method, a signal of a value proportional to the amount of movement of the conveying device for conveying a chain of products is generated, and suspending members are controlled on the basis of that signal in such a manner as to suspend the chain of products for each desired number of links to be suspended. Meanwhile, the suspending apparatus has a signal generating device for generating a signal of a value proportional to the amount of movement of the conveying device for conveying the chain of products. A suspending device is connected to a controlling device for controlling the movement of the suspending members, and on the basis of that signal the controlling device causes the suspending members to move in such a manner as to suspend the chain of products for each desired number of links.

  • Patent number: 4539796
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing sausages or the like comprises a stuffer tube for stuffing sausage dough into a casing, a pump for supplying the sausage dough into the stuffer tube, a casing pusher for propelling the casing, a chuck for receiving the stuffed casing discharged out of an end of the stuffer tube, the chuck being rotatable and frictionally engageable with the stuffed casing, and a linking device coacting with the chuck for twisting the stuffed casing as pushed out of the chuck into a chain of links. There are provided speed changing devices such as conical pulleys and endless belts trained therearound for changing the speeds of operation of the pump and the linking device, respectively. The casing pusher may be actuated either manually or automatically by a fluid cylinder. Manual actuation of the casing pusher permits less rigid collagen casings or irregular animal casings to be propelled without the risk of getting ruptured while being stuffed with sausage batter.
