  • Patent number: 8542746
Abstract: Decoding control apparatus for decoding predictive encoded data. A picture detector determines the fewest possible pictures which must be decoded first before decoding a picture which are to be displayed after an edit point. A start-point finder for finds the start point for decoding the fewest possible pictures determined by said picture detector even though those fewest pictures are not to be displayed. A plurality of decoders decode the encoded data in picture units, on the basis of the start point. A picture obtained by the decoders is selected on the basis of the edit point and output.

  • Patent number: 8149679
Abstract: If a recording rate of data is close to a writing rate on a recording medium, recorded data is externally transmitted. The problems are solved by: an efficient separate use of data in a buffer and read out data; and the use of low resolution data. As illustrated, the 0th to third low resolution data to be transmitted are not read out from an optical disc because the data remain in a buffer at the time of transmission. Instead, the buffered data is transmitted. When the fourth low resolution data is to be transmitted, the fourth to sixth low resolution data are read out from the optical disc for transmission because the data have already been erased from the buffer. The present invention is applicable to, for example, a disc recorder.

  • Patent number: 8098738
Abstract: A shortest cut duration is a minimum required period between an edit point set on a stream of pictures such as an MPEG stream and the next edit point set on the stream. Restrictions are made on the shortest cut duration lenient in editing the stream. A controller detects each edit point set on the stream and identifies the fewest possible pictures which are not to be displayed but must be decoded first before decoding a picture to be displayed after the edit point. Then, the controller finds a start point representing the timing to start decoding the fewest possible pictures. Subsequently, the controller controls decoders to decode the stream in picture units on the basis of the start point, and controls a switcher to select one of outputs of the decoders on the basis of the edit point.

  • Patent number: 7950354
Abstract: An oil-release space (18) is formed along a lower side portion (17) of a cylinder lateral and peripheral wall (3) below an oil-cooling jacket (4). A reinforcing plate (19) spans between the lower side portion (17) of the cylinder lateral and peripheral wall (3) and a bottom wall (10) of a push-rod chamber (8) below the oil-release space (18). The oil-release space (18) is communicated with an oil outlet (20) of an oil-return passage (7). Engine oil that has passed through the oil-return passage (7) is released from the oil outlet (20) into the oil-release space (18). The engine oil released into the oil-release space (18) is guided by an upper surface of the reinforcing plate (19) to drop from a led-out end (25) on a rear side of the reinforcing plate (19) onto a rear side space (24).
