Publication number: 20030026258Abstract: A system for use with communications according to TCP, or a similar protocol, comprises a sender host, one or more routers and a destination host. Each router comprises means for generating acknowledgement packets and translating addresses associated with data packets. When a data packet is received by a router, an acknowledgement packet is returned with a source address corresponding to the router and a destination address corresponding to the sender host. The sender host perceives the acknowledgement packet as having been sent by the destination host. As the acknowledgement packet is sent by the router, and not the destination host, this system allows acknowledgement packets to be received on a shorter timescale, reducing the effects of a link delay. Although the route between the sender host and the destination host is divided into multiple connections, the hosts perceive a single, conventional connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2002Publication date: February 6, 2003Inventors: Yukihiro Takatani, Naomichi Nonaka, Minoru Koizumi

Patent number: 6501377Abstract: In order to allow efficient use of bandwidth in communication paths in a surveillance system, the surveillance system has an operation unit which assigns fixed bandwidths to each of the communications taking place between camera nodes, which transfer image data at a uniform rate, and monitor nodes. A fixed bandwidth is assigned to, all communications taking place between the operation unit and sensor nodes, which generate alarm information at a non-uniform rate. If there is an increase in network traffic, bandwidth allocations, for communication between the camera nodes and the monitor nodes are reassigned so that bandwidth for these communications is reduced. The camera nodes use the bandwidth assigned to the camera nodes to transfer image data. The sensor nodes transfer alarm information using any bandwidth.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2001Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tomoichi Ebata, Chiho Kitahara, Minoru Koizumi, Toshiichiro Sasaki, Yoshiaki Adachi

Patent number: 6249877Abstract: According to the present invention, a file recovery system is provided in which the commands for recovering files such as a historical file are unnecessitated and the recovery system configuration is independent of the host processing system. That is, since the equipment for achieving a file recovery does not have information about the location of the recovery data, information about the content of a file to be recovered is transmitted to a transmission line. The other equipments asynchronously receive the information and judges whether or not a file containing the same content exists in the own system. If its file exists, the content of the file is transmitted to the transmission line. The equipment achieving the file recovery asynchronously receives from the transmission line the file data of files such as a historical file and establishes data consistency by use of the buffered current data and the event number, thereby recovering files such as a historical file.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1989Date of Patent: June 19, 2001Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Setsuo Kawakami, Minoru Koizumi, Kinji Mori, Kozo Nakai, Hirokazu Kasashima, Yasuo Suzuki, Katsumi Kawano, Masayuki Orimo

Patent number: 5727149Abstract: A network interface apparatus connected between a LAN adaptor possessed by a computer and a transceiver provided on a network includes a buffer memory for storing data, a first control circuit for communicating with the LAN adaptor, a second control circuit for communicating with the transceiver, and a processor for controlling the first and second control circuits to control the transfer of data between the LAN adaptor and the transceiver. The processor causes the buffer memory to store transmit data transmitted from the LAN adaptor and transmits the stored transmit data in the buffer memory to the transceiver in a transmission time zone which is allotted beforehand. The transmission time zone is determined by the processor on the basis of the reception of a synchronizing packet which is transferred on the network. Receive data received from the transceiver is selected by the processor so that only the selected receive data is sent to the LAN adaptor.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1995Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuhiko Hirata, Minoru Koizumi, Emiko Yanagisawa, Osamu Takada, Hiroshi Wataya

Patent number: 5706430Abstract: A distributed memory computer system periodically performs memory copy among a plurality of computers by using general-purpose communication control devices and a transmission line of the CSMA/CD type. A master computer periodically generates a synchronizing packet, and transmits data for memory copy and normal data in a time slot immediately after the transmission of the synchronizing packet. Each computer other than the master computer transmits the data for memory copy and the normal data in its own time slot after the elapse of a predetermined time. The respective computers complete their transmissions within predetermined times. Since the time slots are assigned to the respective computers, the number of computers which may compete with each other on a transmission line can be restricted and each computer can be assured a periodic opportunity to transmit data.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1994Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Emiko Yanagisawa, Minoru Koizumi, Tetsuhiko Hirata, Kenji Kataoka, Osamu Takada, Hirashi Wataya

Patent number: 5146559Abstract: The present invention consists in that, when a program constitution in each of processors connected to a common transmission line has changed, a message to this effect is broadcast to the common transmission line, and that, when the message has been received from the common transmission line, information on programs stored in the own processor is broadcast to the common transmission line, whereby the messages indicating the program constitutions in the individual processors are automatically broadcast onto the transmission line at the changes of the constitutions of programs. Besides, in a system wherein a series of processes are executed by a plurality of programs, the relation among programs according to the flow of the series of processes can be recognized using information on the input/output data of each of the programs.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1987Date of Patent: September 8, 1992Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masayuki Orimo, Kinji Mori, Yasuo Suzuki, Katsumi Kawano, Minoru Koizumi, Kozo Nakai, Hirokazu Kasahima
