  • Patent number: 5753279
Abstract: An injection stretch blow molding apparatus and method wherein while the preforms are amply cooled the injection molding cycle time is shortened and furthermore a small number of blow cavities are used. In an injection molding section, N (N.gtoreq.2) preforms are injection molded in an upright state and then released from the injection cavity mold. While the preforms are cooled by the injection core mold, they are carried to a preform ejecting section. After the preforms cool to a temperature at which they can be ejected, the preforms are ejected from the injection core mold. In a transfer station, an array pitch of the simultaneously molded preforms are changed to a blow molding pitch, and then the preforms are transferred to a blow molding station in an inverted state. In the blow molding station, each preform is carried by a carrier member through a heating section into a blow molding section. In the blow molding section, n bottles are simultaneously blow molded from n preforms.

  • Patent number: 5744176
Abstract: An injection stretch blow molding apparatus and method wherein while the preforms are amply cooled the injection molding cycle time is shortened and furthermore a small number of blow cavities are used and the operation rate of these blow cavities is increased. In an injection molding section, N (N.gtoreq.2) preforms are injection molded and then released from the injection cavity mold at a relatively high mold-release temperature. While the preforms are cooled by the injection core mold, they are carried to a preform ejecting section. After the preforms cool to a temperature at which they can be ejected, the preforms are ejected from the injection core mold. In a transfer station, n (1.ltoreq.n<N) of the simultaneously molded N preforms at a time are transferred to a blow molding station in (N/n) transfer operations. In the blow molding station, each preform is carried by a carrier member through a heating section and a standby section into a blow molding section.

  • Patent number: 5589130
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus for a preform is disclosed, having an injection molding station (14) and a cooling and ejection station (16). In the injection molding station (14), neck cavity molds (60), injection core molds (50) and an injection cavity mold (42) are clamped and preforms (1) are injection molded. Thereafter, the injection cavity mold (42) is separated at a relatively high temperature. The preforms (1) are transferred to the cooling and ejection station (16) while being cooled by the injection core molds (50) and neck cavity molds (60). While the next preforms (1) are being injection molded in the injection molding station (14), in the cooling and ejection station (16) cooling of the preforms (1) continues. After cooling the preforms (1) to a temperature suitable for release, the injection core molds (50) are separated only through a stroke sufficient to allow a space to open between core pins (52) of the injection core molds 50 and the inner surface of the preforms (1).

  • Patent number: 5540580
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus in which a hot-runner mold is moved with respect to the injection nozzle of an injection unit is disclosed. In a position in which the injection nozzle comes into contact is provided a first fixed link with a runner formed therein. A second fixed link with a runner formed therein is fixed to the hot-runner mold, and moves integrally with the hot-runner mold. Between these links is provided an intermediate runner block system, with runners formed therein. The intermediate runner block system is constructed from a first intermediate link supported rotatably by the first fixed link and a second intermediate link supported rotatably by the second fixed link, and these two intermediate links are also rotatably coupled together. This plurality of links forms a link construction, so that regardless of the movement of the hot-runner mold the resin path between the injection nozzle and the hot-runner mold is maintained.

  • Patent number: 4585247
Abstract: A body frame of a small-sized vehicle such as a motorcycle or the like is assembled by interconnecting a plurality of frame elements. Among at least one pair of the frame elements, a connecting portion of one frame element is fitted into a connecting portion of the other frame element, and the respective connecting portions are firmly connected with each other by means of an adhesive agent. Moreover, the cross-section shapes of the both connecting portions are made non-circular, that is, not a simple circular shape, and thereby the interconnecting structure is very strong and rigid against a torsional force exerted thereupon.

  • Patent number: 4518204
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved wheel for a vehicle of the type having an annular rim adapted to carry a tire thereon and a wheel center, the annular rim being press fitted onto the outer peripheral part of said wheel center, the improvement consisting in that the annular rim and the wheel center are connected to one another with the aid of a layer of adhesive agent which is distributed in such a manner that its thickness assumes the maximum value at the central part of the cross-sectional configuration and decreases toward both the side edge parts of the wheel in the transverse direction. The maximum thickness of the layer of adhesive agent is determined in the range of 0.05 to 0.5 mm. The annular rim is firmly connected to the outer peripheral part of the wheel center by means of the layer of adhesive agent without any necessity for welding or the like operation so that the wheel has a good appearance. Epoxy resin based adhesive agent is preferably used for the wheel.
