  • Patent number: 6783171
Abstract: When a sealing portion at an end portion of an extruded weatherstrip is cut out by a fixed length and a main body and a lip are set on a metal mold for die forming, concave portions are formed on a lower surface and side surface of the main body to be set on the metal mold, and are latched, respectively with convex portions of the metal mold to restrict movement. Thus a problem in external appearance caused by movement or bending of a part of the main body including the lip due to a molding pressure is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6021609
Abstract: A glass run 5 having an improved sealing ability is provided. The glass run 5 is fit into a door sash 2 of a car in order to guide a descending or ascending door glass 3. The glass run 5 comprises a molded connector 5B for connecting straight parts 5A of the glass run, and it has a U-shaped groove 4 for guiding the door glass 3. The U-shaped groove 4 comprises an outer side wall 6, a bottom wall 7, an inner side wall 8, an outer lip 9 extending from the outer side wall 6 into the groove 4, and an inner lip 10 extending from the inner side wall 8 into the groove 4. The outer and inner lips 9 and 10 hold the door glass 3 through frictional contact.

  • Patent number: 5618608
Abstract: A weather strip for sealing the joint between the door frame of the body of a car and a door put on the door frame comprises, in an integral structure, a welt part of a substantially U-shaped cross section to be put on a flange formed on the door frame, a hollow sealing part protruding from the outer side wall of the welt part, and a fish-bone or one-side core having a plurality of U-shaped loops and a linear connecting part successively connecting the U-shaped loops, and buffed in the welt part. Slots or cuts are formed in sections of the weather strip to be extended on the lower side of the door frame to cut out portions of the connecting part of the core so that breaks are formed in the connecting part of the core to make the section of the weather strip stretchable and contractible.
