  • Patent number: 5817216
Abstract: In a method of producing a wet frictional material according to the present invention, paper-making stock solution is circulated and stirred between a paper-making tank and a raw-material tank so that the concentration of the paper-making stock solution is kept constant. A paper-making jig and an up/down suction portion are connected to each other and elevated up and lowered down in the paper-making tank so that water is sucked from the stock solution by a suction apparatus in the period of elevating-up and lowering-down to perform paper-making. The paper-making jig and the up/down suction portion may be formed separately so as to be connected to each other. In this case, the method can cope with requirements of products of various sizes.

  • Patent number: 5718823
Abstract: The present invention provides a device for biological wastewater treatment which prevents flotation and deformation of mesh tubes packed in a reactor tank as microorganism retaining materials. Device for biological water treatment 10 of the present invention comprises reactor tank 11; microorganism retaining media 12, which are installed in the tank; and air diffuser tubes 14, and wastewater distributor tube 16, both of which are installed under the microorganism retaining media. The microorganism retaining media comprise supporting media 22 and mesh tubes 24, which are installed on the supporting media. The supporting media are constituted in a manner that at least two the beams 26 are arranged on each supporting tier in parallel at certain intervals and the direction of the arrangement of the beams is alternately shifted by an angle of 90 degrees at every supporting tier.

  • Patent number: 5388512
Abstract: A dampening suppression apparatus for a printing press includes a plurality of fans, air volume adjusting dials, and a driving controller. The fans are parallely arranged in an axial direction of an ink roller to oppose a circumferential surface thereof. The air volume adjusting dials respectively set the air volumes of the fans. The driving controller individually controls to drive each of the fans on the basis of outputs from the air volume adjusting dials.

  • Patent number: 4822568
Abstract: A whole blood aggregometer of red blood cells (RBC) consists of a transparent tube containing freshly drawn heparinized blood, and a densitometer head which is attached to the tube. The densitometer head consists of a light source and a light detector to monitor changes in optical density of the blood in the tube. The blood in the tube is first subjected to rapid flow with a solenoid, so that the wall shear rate of the blood approximates to 500 s.sup.-1. The shear gives rise to a rapid increase in optical density of the blood due to dispersion of the blood corpuscles. The blood is then brought abruptly to a full stop. After the flow has stopped, the densitometer head reveals a gradual decrease in optical density in association with RBC aggregate formation. The resultant pattern is termed as an "RBC aggregogram". The RBC aggregogram exhibits a quasi-exponential decay in its initial part, which is followed by an asymptotical decrease.

  • Patent number: 4589368
Abstract: A varnish coater for a printed product is provided, wherein a varnish supply pipe from a varnish tank is open at a position above a bucket-like varnish pan for storing varnish, overflow means connected between the varnish tank and a varnish drain pipe opens at a predetermined varnish level in the varnish pan, and varnish drain port means is formed in a bottom portion of the varnish pan so as to cause the varnish tank to communicate with the varnish drain pipe.
