Abstract: An adjustable wrench has a wrench head with a cavity for receiving an object to be gripped and a moveable key that slides into the cavity to adjust its size. The key is advanced and retracted by an actuating mechanism including a threaded stem and a nut. The stem and key can be disconnected and separately removed from the wrench for repair or replacement. The wrench handle has a series of belt holes spaced along it so that the wrench can be belted to the body of a wearer as a safety measure.

Abstract: An open adjustable wrench has an aligned handle and C-shaped head, the head being opened to the side. A moveable key slides in the head axially of the handle towards and away from a fixed gripping face on the upper end of the head. The key is adjusted in position by a threaded stem sliding in the keyway and itself advanced and retracted by rotation of a nut. The key and stem are detachably connected so that they can be removed from the wrench head for maintenance or replacement.

Abstract: The present invention provides a wrench having a removable key and key adjustment assembly. The key itself includes a nut receiving face having chamfered upper and lower edge regions to one side of the key and a notch intermediate the other side of the key. The key is removably secured to a threaded stem fitted within a longitudinal opening through the wrench head with a screw securing the stem to the key. The screw releases the stem and the key from another with the stem being then removable through the axial opening and the key itself being removable from the wrench head by engaging the notch with the edge of the cavity and clearing the chamfered edges past the cavity wall suh that the key pulls directly out through the cavity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the head of an adjustable wrench having a threaded member which is secured through a releasable securing member to the wrench key. The wrench head is provided with a first access for gaining access to the releasable securing member to enable removal of the threaded member through a second access in the wrench head for repairs or the like.
