The instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to perform operations that include detecting the user within the detection range via the proximity sensor, scanning a mobile device of the user for a device identification via the local communication interface, determining that the device identification is associated with the user that is authorized on the MFD, and automatically logging the user into the MFD.

At a plurality of times, a respective user's selection of one of the original set of languages is received. Based on a plurality of user selections, a modified set of languages can be learned which is then used in place of the original set of languages when providing the at least one language selection mechanism at a subsequent time.
