Abstract: A filter apparatus is disclosed herein that includes a filter, such as a cartridge, positioned within a housing. The housing includes a lower-section housing and a cover assembly removably attached to the lower-section housing. The filter apparatus has multiple ports and valves, such as a valve associated with the cover assembly, so as to allow a user to easily switch between various operations on a pool filter, such as between a backwash mode and a filtration mode. The filter apparatus also employs a cage positioned around the cartridge, thereby between the housing and the filter. The cage provides additional support to the cartridge so as to reduce wear and tear of the cartridge. The cover is rotatable about the lower-section housing so as to allow a user to position ports on the cover in any direction.

Abstract: A step ladder that is assembled with removably attachable components and an electronic component in one or more of the removably attachable components is disclosed herein. The removably attachable components of the step ladder include one ore risers, steps, railings and side panels. As one example, a riser may include a light fixture therein that is connected to a controller and a power source. The controller is configured to control aspects of the light fixture, including when to turn tie light fixture on and off. A photoelectric sensor that detects light may also be implemented, which, in communication with the controller, turns on and off the light fixture based on whether or not light is detected. Other components of the step ladder may also include electronic components, including a light fixture, radio, speaker, blue tooth other wireless capabilities, etc.

Abstract: A water bonding fixture is provided herein which includes a shaft and a plurality of electrically conductive plates disposed at one end of the shaft and spaced apart from each other so as to provide a gap between adjacent plates. Each electrically conductive plate defines two planar surfaces each of which are substantially exposed and each electrically conductive plate is electrically connected to each other electrically conductive plate to provide a surface area of conductive surface approximately equal to the exposed surface area of all of the electrically conductive plates. The water bonding fixture is preferably used in conjunction with swimming pool equipment such as pool pumps, skimmers and filters.

Abstract: A retrieval device is disclosed that includes a rod having a distal end and a proximal end, and a magnet attached to the distal end of the rod to magnetically attract debris and other objects. The magnet may be attached to a cover on the distal end of the rod via a recess within the cover. The magnet may be positioned at multiple positions within the recess. When the magnet is positioned at a bottom of the recess, the recess forms an empty space formed by the cover, thereby encasing any debris or objects that are captured within the recess of the cover.

Abstract: A pre-filter skimmer system that reduces the amount of debris and particles entering the water filter in order to increase the longevity of the water filter is disclosed. The pre-filter skimmer system includes a chamber including an inlet and an outlet, wherein the water enters via the inlet and exits via the outlet. The water enters a first collector that is positioned at least partially within the chamber, the first collector configured to capture particles of a first size carried by the water. From here, the water enters a second collector that is positioned downstream of the first collector, wherein the second collector is configured to capture particles of a second size smaller than the first size that passed through the first collector.
