Abstract: This disclosure relates to an orthodontic appliance having a bracket that can be readily adjusted after the orthodontic appliance is attached to a tooth. In one example embodiment, an adjustable orthodontic appliance includes a base, a bracket, and a spring-loaded locking mechanism attached to the bracket. In this example embodiment, the spring-loaded locking mechanism has a locked state where the spring-loaded locking mechanism engages with the base such that the position of the bracket is locked in place with respect to the position of the base. The spring-loaded locking mechanism also has an unlocked state where the spring-loaded locking mechanism disengages from the base such that the position of the bracket is adjustable with respect to the position of the base.
