  • Patent number: 6373014
Abstract: A current limiting device includes first and second contact members, each contact member having, at a first end, contacts defining a contact pair; a contacting pressure is applied to said contact pair; and a cylindrical insulator cylindrically surrounding the contacts when the contacts are closed. The device is arranged such that at least one of the first and second contact members is rotatably supported at a second end. Also, an electrical path is defined through which currents flow in substantial opposition to the first and second contact members and in opposite directions to each other. The first ends of the first and second contact members are positioned within the space defined by the cylindrical insulator in the closed contact state. The contact of at least one of the rotatably supported contact members is positioned outside of the space defined by the cylindrical insulator when the contacts are open.

  • Patent number: 6318233
Abstract: In a vacuum type brake booster apparatus, the response in an initial stage of operating brakes is made sluggish so as to improve the brake feeling in a normal operation area, while the response is improved at the time of panic braking when the brake pedal is largely depressed to thereby reduce a stopping distance at the time of braking. A throttling mechanism is constituted by a position variable piston fixed to an operating rod of a brake booster of a vacuum type and a circumferential wall portion surrounding the position variable piston with a certain gap being formed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6061887
Abstract: In an assembly line in which at least two kinds of workpieces are transported by mixture and in which each of the workpieces is transported by a self-propelling transporting member, a transporting pitch for each kind of workpiece is set in advance based on a difference in the number of assembling man-hours required for each of them. The timing for starting the transporting member off a starting end of the assembly line is controlled according to the transporting pitch such that a pitch between a preceding transporting member and a succeeding transporting member becomes equal to that which is set for a workpiece to be transported by the preceding transporting member.

  • Patent number: 5313031
Abstract: A switch is configured that: in the closed-circuit state, at least part of its movable contact arm enters into a oblong generally hexahedral space defined by its elongated stationary conductor in its closed circuit position. Both contacting and breaking of the moving contact and the fixed contact occur in the space. Overall electromagnetic forces generated by the current flowing through the stationary conductor, movable contact arm and the arc induced at the time of breaking effectively act to extend the arc toward a terminal section of the stationary conductor and to increase the arc resistance at the time just after the breaking of both the contacts.

  • Patent number: 5123148
Abstract: A hinge pin couples a first hinge receiver mounted on a vehicle body and a second hinge receiver mounted on a door to be installed on the vehicle body. The hinge pin is removed from the vehicle body and the door to separate the vehicle body and the door from each other after the vehicle body and the door have been coated, and the removed pin engages in a hinge pin engaging member. The hinge pin is fed to a position where the vehicle body and the door are to be assembled together, and the hinge pin is removed from the hinge pin engaging member. Then, the removed hinge pin is pressed into the first and second hinge receivers which are aligned with each other, thereby coupling the vehicle body and the door to each other.

  • Patent number: 4907331
Abstract: A hinge pin is temporarily held on a first hinge member on the automobile body by means of a hinge pin support mechanism. A door to be attached to the automobile body is held in position, and a second hinge member on the door is brought into engagement with the first hinge member. The hinge pin is pressed into the second hinge member through the first hinge member to couple the door to the automobile door. The hinge pin support mechanism includes a hinge pin retaining member including a ring separably joined to a plurality of legs. When the hinge pin is pressed into the hinge members, the ring is sheared off from the legs and rides in a peripheral groove defined in the hinge pin. The ring then engages one of the hinge members to prevent the hinge pin from being removed from the hinge members. The door can automatically be attached to the automobile body by a door attaching mechanism and detached from the automobile body by a door detaching mechanism.
