Patent number: 5197906Abstract: A resilient terminal with a buckling prevention mechanism has a pair of electric contact portions that are interconnected through a flexible joint portion. The flexible joint portion is protected against buckling because an excess bending of the joint portion is blocked by an abutment portion on one of the electric contact portions abutting against the other electric contact portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1992Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Mitsugu Watanabe, Nozomi Kawasaki, Masaaki Sugiyama, Yoshihisa Natsume

Patent number: 5122083Abstract: A resilient terminal with a buckling prevention mechanism has a pair of electric contact portions that are interconnected through a flexible joint portion. The pair of contact portions are provided with abutment portions that are disposed opposite to each other with a small gap therebetween. When there is a misalignment between the mating terminals or when an excessive insertion force is applied, the flexible joint portion of the terminal deflects to allow the male terminal to be inserted therein. The flexible joint portion, however, is protected against buckling because an excess bending of the joint portion is blocked by the abutment portions abutting against each other. At the same time, one of the abutment portions slides on the other, correcting the terminal misalignment and ensuring reliable terminal engagement.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1991Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Mitsugu Watanabe, Nozomi Kawasaki, Masaaki Sugiyama, Yoshihisa Natsume

Patent number: 5057026Abstract: To standardize electric junction boxes so that the internal circuits can be applied to various requirements without markedly changing parts, the junction box is divided into plural stackable distributing units each connectable to each subharness via each subharness connector. The junction box comprises a plurality of stackable distributing units including a plurality of parallel arranged wires connectable with at least one external subharness; wire shorting bus bars or wire branch bars arranged so as to cross the parallel arranged wires; and an interlayer connecting unit or plural interlayer connecting terminals arranged so as to cross the surfaces of the plural distributing units for connecting the parallel arranged wires and the wire shorting bus bars arranged on different distributing units. Further, when male connector terminals are provided on each distributing unit, it is possible to form a subharness connector by use of these male connector terminals on each distributing unit.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1990Date of Patent: October 15, 1991Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Mamoru Sawai, Mitsugu Watanabe, Hiroshi Suzuki, Keiichi Ozaki

Patent number: 4950168Abstract: The circuits contained in an electrical connection box provided near an instrument panel of a car can be separated into a plurality of separately formed connection blocks. The connection blocks each have terminals in which a plurality of conductors are press-fitted so that the connection blocks are electrically connected through the conductors and the terminals. The relative positions of the connection blocks are then adjusted so that the shapes of the connection blocks and conductors conform to the shape of the instrument panel. Thus, the connection box is close to the objects with which it is to be connected, the capacity of accommodating more fuses, circuits, etc., is increased, and electrical wires are shortened. Additionally, it is easy to adjust the connection box for various types of cars and specifications.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1989Date of Patent: August 21, 1990Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Mitsugu Watanabe, Keiichi Ozaki

Patent number: 4943241Abstract: Apparatus is provided for installing a wire harness of an automobile which facilitates installation of a wire harness onto a car body. First of all the wire harness and electrical equipment are fixed on a carrier panel. In the fixing them, the connectors of the wire harness are positioned for connection to the articles of electrical equipment. Some connectors of the wire harness fixed on the carrier panel are adapted to be connected to the connectors of the wire harness on the car body. The thus prepared assembly of carrier panel, the wire harness, the electrical equipment is bodily attached to the car body.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1988Date of Patent: July 24, 1990Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Mitsugu Watanabe, Kazuhiko Kaneko, Etsuji Matsumoto

Patent number: 4403155Abstract: An improved wiring system is provided in which a connector box having a plurality of terminals, electrical circuitry, and bus bars is incorporated. Since each bus bar provides forked conductive paths between the circuitry and the terminals, the terminals of the connector box and outside connectors can be connected by way of wires in a one-to-one correspondence. This simplified wiring mode greatly reduces manual labor in the manufacture of wire harnesses. Moreover, if a plurality of connector boxes of such structure as above are provided, they can be arranged in the vicinity of any of the electrical equipment of the vehicle due to their compact structure, thus minimizing the arrangement of power line wires in the car body.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1982Date of Patent: September 6, 1983Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hideto Aoki, Tomoyuki Hirano, Mitsugu Watanabe, Toshiyuki Kamano, Mitsunori Tsunoda, Toshikazu Akiyama, Mitsuyasu Kanehiro, Mitsuji Kubota, Masayuki Sato
