  • Patent number: 6384940
Abstract: The present invention relates to a facsimile device utilizing an improved process unit for an electrophotographic image recording device. The process unit includes a development unit and a photosensitive (drum) unit. These two units can be integrally engaged with each other and the combined two units is as a whole removable from/attached to the facsimile device when maintenance is required due to jammed paper or the like. When one of the units is to be replaced with a new unit because of exhaustion or the like, the combined two units can be separated and subject to maintenance (replacement). In the present invention, this process unit is accommodated in a main body frame of a facsimile having an image recording part such that the unit can be removed from/attached to the main body frame in the vertical direction. A scan part frame having a continuous document scan part and a flat head bed scanner is rotatably mounted on the main body frame.

  • Patent number: 6047141
Abstract: An image recording machine (8) having a remaining toner detection unit arranged inside a main body of a developer (41). Toner (40) is housed in the developer main body. The image recording machine (8) also includes a scraper (57) which cleans toner (40) out of a recess (56a) of the remaining toner detection unit as it is rotated integrally with an agitator. A supply member (47) for supplying stored toner (40) to the recess (56a) of the remaining toner detection unit rotates with the scraper (57) and is arranged at a 90.degree. angle downstream from the scraper (57) relative to their direction of rotation. The supply member (47) is formed as a flexible member.

  • Patent number: 4805394
Abstract: Method and apparatus for false twisting a yarn. The apparatus includes false twisting endless belts arranged to intersect each other at a nip point, a pivotally mounted arm having a yarn guide on one end thereof, a pivotally mounted bracket and adjustable cam means for maintaining the arm in separate adjusted positions wherein yarn guided by the yarn guide passes directly through the nip point of the endless belts to provide a predetermined number of false twists to the yarn and wherein the yarn is preliminarily false twisted with a twist number less than the predetermined twist number during initiation of false twisting. The method of the invention includes the steps moving the arm into a position wherein the yarn is engaged with the false twisting endless belts but not at the nip point or intersection thereof to impart initial or preliminary false twisting to the yarn and subsequently positioning the arm so that yarn guided thereby is passed through the nip point between the false twisting endless belts.
