  • Publication number: 20060217643
Abstract: A massaging apparatus comprises a leg rest 8 including leg supporting members 15 and 16 which are provided with lower thigh-location grooves 15a and 16a for placing user's lower thighs and rotatably provided peripherally of the lower thigh-location grooves 15a and 16a, and airbags 27 and 28 for rotating the leg supporting members 16 and 16 peripherally of the lower thigh-location grooves 15a and 16a. The massaging apparatus also includes airbags 19 to 22 provided in the lower thigh-location grooves 15a and 16a, air supply-exhaust means 35 for operating the airbags 19 to 22 and massaging the lower thighs by the airbags 19 to 22, and an arithmetic control circuit 36 for operating and controlling the airbags 27 and 28 and the air supply-exhaust means 35.

  • Patent number: 6592533
Abstract: In an air massager, a seat, backrest, etc. are provided with cushion units. Each cushion unit includes a pad member, consisting mainly of a fiber-filler, and airbag apparatus put on top of the pad member. The airbag apparatus can be inflated or deflated as air is fed into or discharged from it by means of a pumping device. A compressible distance in the thickness-direction of the pad member is greater than a maximum inflated thickness of the airbag apparatus. The pad member has a thickness, softness, and restorability such that it allows the inflated airbag apparatus to go down into the fiber-filler and incline along a seater's body surface when the airbag apparatus is pressed by the body surface.

  • Patent number: 5909781
Abstract: A power-assisting device for use with a bicycle includes a hollow shaft which is adapted to be rotatably supported in a hanger lug of the bicycle. The hollow shaft is restricted to movement along a rotation center line thereof, and has (i) a first end portion adapted to be projected out of the hanger lug and detachably attached to a rear wheel drive gear, and (ii) a second end portion adapted to be projected out of the hanger lug and detachably attached to an input gear. A crank shaft is rotatably supported in a center hole of the hollow shaft. The crank shaft is restricted to movement along a rotation center line thereof, and has first and second end portions extending out of the hollow shaft and adapted to be detachably attached to a first and second ones of a pair of pedal-equipped crank arms.
