    Abstract: An electronically controlled transmission having a rotatable cylindrical shift drum for moving a plurality of shift rods is linked with a transmission gear mechanism so as to selectively provide various forward and reverse gears. The shift drum has a center axis of rotation laying in parallel with center axes of rotation of the main shaft and the counter shaft and is offset sideways from a plane in which the center axes of rotation of the main and counter shafts extend.
