  • Publication number: 20050120633
Abstract: The invention is to provide a vehicle glass run, in which a seal lip prevents displacement or vibration of a door glass, exactly holds the door glass, reduces sliding resistance between the door glass and the seal lip, and prevent generation of abnormal noises. The vehicle-interior seal lip is formed to be longer than a vehicle-exterior seal lip, and has a body of the vehicle-interior seal lip extending from the vehicle-interior side wall, a bent portion thereof being bent toward a bottom wall from the body of the vehicle-interior seal lip, and a front end portion of the same extending from the bent portion with a length contacting the vehicle-interior side wall at the front end portion of the vehicle-interior seal lip, when the door glass contacts the vehicle-interior seal lip. The vehicle-interior side wall is performed with a treatment to reduce the sliding resistance on a face of the vehicle-interior side wall contacted by the vehicle-interior seal lip.

  • Patent number: 5799442
Abstract: A door glass weather strip is structured such that a terminal end portion thereof to be contacted with a door pillar is cut away so as to correspond to the door pillar and is finish end formed. A clip to be inserted into a rectangular engaging hole formed in a door panel is provided on the surface of a mounting portion of the door glass weather strip. That particular, on the surface of the cut-away terminal end portion E of the mounting portion that is opposed to the outside surface of the door panel. The clip is formed of flexible synthetic resin, and includes a first engaging piece portion formed in a hook shape and engageable with the lower edge of the engaging hole in the door panel, and a second engaging piece portion which projects upwardly from the upper end of the first engaging piece portion and also includes in the top portion thereof an engaging stepped portion to be engageable with the upper edge of the engaging hole.

  • Patent number: 5797644
Abstract: A weather strip includes a front portion, a rear portion and a transforming portion. A trim portion is attached to a drip channel of a vehicle door assembly, and a connecting web connects the trim portion to a tubular sealing portion. The connecting web has a width which gradually varies according to the part of the vehicle door assembly to which it is attached. The part of the tubular sealing portion attached to the drip channel from the rear roof line to the upper rear pillar of the door assembly is deformed, and a contacting portion thereof is fixed at an outside trim portion.

  • Patent number: 4964620
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a weatherstrip is provided which includes the step of connecting a first extruded component and a second extruded component, each having surface treated portions and cut to a predetermined length, by means of a molded connecting portion which is molded by forcing molding material into the cavity of a mold defined by inserting and setting the first and second extruded components in the mold. The step of molding the molded connecting portion is performed by forming separating slits in a third extruded component which is cut to a length shorter that the length of the molded connecting portion and has surface treated portions such that these separating slits extend along the surface treated portions from both ends to an intermediate section and by setting the thus prepared third extruded component in the mold such that the surface treated portions are in line with the surface treated portions of the first and second extruded components.

  • Patent number: 4908989
Abstract: A door glass-run for automobiles is used in the fitted state to the frame of a car-door whose window opening is divided vertically by a division-bar such that a liftable-window and a quarter-window assembly are fitted to the window opening with the division-bar constructing part of the quarter-window assembly. The glass-run comprises a roof-side portion for holding the respective upper sides of the liftable-window and the quarter-window which includes a design lip disposed outside the car, and a division-bar portion branched from the roof-side portion. The roof-side portion is made of an integrally extruded component. The roof-side portion is notched at a branch section, from which the division-bar portion branches, to define a notched portion which includes at least the design lip. The notched portion is connected at its face on the side of the liftable window via a molded portion with a separate division bar portion.
