  • Patent number: 7363101
Abstract: A knitting machine, a method of working yarn by the knitting machine, and a controller for working yarn by the knitting machine and its program. In the method, a carriage is controllably stopped at a point where a yarn passage length between a yarn working device and a knitting needle obtained by assuming that a buffer length on a tension arm is maximum matches a residual knitting length left before knitting at a point where yarn working is performed. When the carriage is stopped, the buffer length of a first arm is measured, a yarn is delivered from the yarn working device by an amount of difference between the buffer length and the maximum value thereof, and the yarn is worked in synchronism with the application of a tension to the yarn by releasing a second arm. Thus, the yarn can be worked at specified positions.

  • Publication number: 20040169827
Abstract: A projection display apparatus employs a plurality of projectors 1, 2, 3 and combines images from the projectors into a large composite image on a nonplanar screen such as a concave spherical screen 10. The composite image is of high quality and high resolution and is normally visible by audience. The projectors 1, 2, 3 receive video signals through a geometric conversion unit and project and display images on the nonplanar screen 10 according to the received video signals. The geometric conversion unit transforms the field angles of images to display, according to relationships among the positions of the projectors 1, 2, 3, the positions of areas of the nonplanar screen 10 to which the projectors project images, and the position of an audience, thereby compensating distortions of images caused by the nonplanar shape of the screen 10.

  • Patent number: 6120143
Abstract: An apparatus for holding a printing medium on a rotary drum, includes a rotary drum, a suction device, a medium holding mechanism and a medium removing device. The drum has a recess at its outer surface to extend along its rotation center line and rotates at a predetermined speed. A region of the outer surface, which is adjacent to a rearward end of the recess along the rotation direction, is smaller in the diameter than the remaining of the outer surface. The suction device holds by suction the medium onto the outer surface. The holding mechanism has a hook in the recess and selectively drives the hook between close and open positions. At the close position, the hook is placed over the adjacent region while being prevented from radially outwardly projecting from the remaining of the outer surface, and at the open position it is distanced from the adjacent region.

  • Patent number: 6074056
Abstract: An ink-jet printer includes a rotary drum having a peripheral surface with a plurality of suction holes arranged therein for rotating at a constant speed, a sheet loader for loading a paper sheet to the peripheral surface of the rotary drum, a sheet holding system for holding the paper sheet on the peripheral surface of the rotary drum by applying negative suction pressure to the paper sheet via the suction holes, and a print head for printing an image by jetting ink onto the paper sheet. The rotary drum has an outer cylindrical member which serves as the peripheral surface, an inner cylindrical member having a diameter smaller than the outer cylindrical member, and a partitioning wall for fixing the inner cylindrical member in the outer cylindrical member at a uniform distance from the outer cylindrical member and for partitioning the space between the inner cylindrical member and the outer cylindrical member into a plurality of air rooms in a drum rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 4633329
Abstract: An information signal recording medium has a spiral track on which an information signal is recorded. The information signal includes picture element data which correspond to one field, and is time-sequentially recorded on the spiral track in terms of the picture element data which correspond to one field. The picture element data which correspond to one field are made up of a plurality of picture element data of a first field and a plurality of picture element data of a second field, among picture element data which are obtained by subjecting an analog video signal to a digital pulse modulation, where the analog video signal corresponds to one frame made up of the first and second fields. A reproducing apparatus is designed to reproduce the second field in a sequence different from a sequence with which the recorded picture element data are reproduced from the information recording medium in the first field.
