  • Patent number: 5092396
Abstract: An indoor unit of an air-conditioning system is provided with a heat exchanger, a fan, and an air cleaner. The fan introduces the air in a room into the indoor unit, and blows the air back into the room after guiding the air to pass through both the heat exchanger and the air cleaner. The heat exchanger performs heat exchange with reference to the air circulated by the fan, for air-cooling, heating, or dehumidification. The air cleaner is arranged in front of the heat exchanger, with a predetermined gap maintained with reference to the heat exchanger. The air cleaner catches dust particles in the air and eliminates odorants from the air. The air cleaner is provided with engaging members. These engaging members are projected from the air cleaner and engage with the heat exchanger. Accordingly, the air cleaner is prevented from swinging, and the gap between the air cleaner and the heat exchanger is maintained at a constant value.

  • Patent number: 4818462
Abstract: The front panel of an air conditioner unit or the like, including a louver-like intake grill comprising several transverse slats with outward-upward inclination is formed by injecting molten resin into cavities formed between a stationary mold and a movable mold along a parting line thereof, the molten resin being thus injected through pin-point gates formed on the stationary mold side and tab gates constituting parts of respective cavities and provided on the stationary mold side at part corresponding to the upper edge faces of the slats, the pin-point gates being connected to the upstream parts of the tab gates. By this method and apparatus a high feed rate of the resin is obtainable, and the molding time is shortened without impairment of the aesthetic appearance of the front panel due to unsightly cut marks left by the trimming of the residual sprue resin remaining in the pin-point gates.

  • Patent number: 4240264
Abstract: An interior unit of a split type air-conditioning apparatus which is usually mounted on a wall of a room to be cooled and is extremely thin. The unit consists of a cabinet structure including a front panel, a middle frame and a rear plate, said front panel having an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening. Also included is a centrifugal fan, preferably a turbo fan with a plurality of backward curved blades, specially designed to adapt to the unit. The means for driving said fan are designed to be partly accommodated in the body of the turbo fan for the purpose of decreasing the depth of the unit.

  • Patent number: 4100764
Abstract: An air-conditioning apparatus, of the room air-conditioning type which can be easily installed at any desired location in a room, as in a window therein, comprising a cabinet structure, a cabinet insulation structure and a partition board dividing the interior of the cabinet into an interior compartment and an exterior compartment. The insulation structure consists of right side, left side, top and bottom insulation boards. The insulation structure and the partition board are all made of plastic insulation material, such as polystyrene resin foam. Each insulation board has a plurality of projections and grooves corresponding with each other and with portions of the refrigeration components, such as the condenser and the evaporator, so that these components are fixedly interposed therebetween, when assembled.
