  • Publication number: 20090114326
Abstract: Provided are a method and a device for fixing a run-flat support body to a pneumatic tire. The method and the device can achieve the prevention of unevenness in the distribution of the lubricant applied to the inner surface of the tire in which the run-flat support body is used, and thus of deterioration in the weight balance of the wheel. In the fixing method, the run-flat support body configured of a pair of elastic rings to be arranged around a rim and an annular shell installed across these elastic rings is fixed to the pneumatic tire which is to be fitted to the rim with the run-flat support body inserted into a hollow part of the tire. The fixing device, for restricting the radial movements of the run-flat support body inserted into the hollow part, is fitted to at least one of bead parts of the pneumatic tire before the pneumatic tire is fitted to the rim so as to coaxially hold the pneumatic tire and the run-flat support body.

  • Patent number: 7509986
Abstract: Disclosed is a tire wheel assembly allowed to enhance working efficiency in rim assembling without destabilizing mounting of a run-flat support member, and furthermore, allowed to realize noise reduction by improving a vibration characteristic during normal traveling. The tire wheel assembly is one where, while a pneumatic tire is fitted to a rim of a wheel, inserted into a cavity portion of the pneumatic tire is a run-flat support member formed of a pair of elastic rings fitted to the rim; and an annular shell straddling between the elastic rings. In the tire wheel assembly, inner diameters of the pair of elastic rings are made different from each other to make an inner diameter of one elastic ring fitted to the rim in a back side of the wheel smaller than an inner diameter of the other elastic ring fitted to the rim in a front side of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7504934
Abstract: The invention provides a tire condition information collection apparatus and a relay apparatus thereof, which corrects a predetermined physical quantity within tire by use of a predetermined physical quantity outside tire in a vicinity of tire to inform of the corrected physical quantity. An air pressure and temperature of tire are detected by a detection apparatus 10 provided in each wheel 2. The detection data is transmitted from the detection apparatus 10 to a relay apparatus 20 disposed in the vicinity of each wheel by electromagnetic wave of a first frequency. When receiving the transmitted data, the relay apparatus 20 detects an atmospheric pressure and temperature in the vicinity of the wheel 2, and transmits the data to a main apparatus 30 along with the detection data received from the detection apparatus 10.
