Abstract: A pyrazole compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.11 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl; each of R.sup.12, R.sup.13, R.sup.14 and R.sup.15 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; R.sup.16 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; R.sup.17 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; X.sup.3 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or hydrogen; p is 0, 1 or 2; A.sup.2 is ##STR2## or --CR.sup.18 R.sup.19 in which each of R.sup.18 and R.sup.19 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; R is 0 to 3; B is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, cycloalkyl or the formula ##STR3## wherein Y is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, nitro or halogen; and n is 1 or 2. The pyrazole compounds are used as herbicides.

Abstract: Pyrazole compounds of the formula (I) ##STR1## and the formula (XI), ##STR2## and the pyrazole compounds of the formula (I) exhibits selectivity to paddy rice and corn, and can control a wide range of paddy field and upland field weeds at a low dosage.

Abstract: Provided by the present invention is a herbicide composition containing, as active ingredients, a pyrazole derivative of the general formula (I) ##STR1## and at least one herbicide compound selected from the group consisting of chloroacetamide-containing herbicides, imidazoline-containing herbicides, atrazine, cyanazine, metribuzin, linuron, metobenzuron, bentazone, dicamba, chlopyralid, 2,4-D, bromoxynil, pendimethalin, nicosulfuron, rimsulfuron, primisulfuron and pyridate. The herbicide composition of the present invention can control a broad rage of gramineous weeds and broad-leaved weeds at a very low dosage without damaging corn and other crops.

Abstract: Processes for producing a pyrazole compound by reacting a compound ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, X.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or a halogen, n is 1 to 3, and p.sup.1 is 0 to 2, with a compound ##STR2## wherein R.sup.6 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and R.sup.7 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, to form a pyrazole compound ##STR3## and optionally reacting the pyrazole compound (Ia) with a sulfonic acid halide of the formula Q.sup.2 X.sup.2 (IV)wherein Q.sup.2 is --SO.sub.2 --R.sup.8 or ##STR4## in which R.sup.8 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, Y is hydrogen, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.1 alkyl or a halogen, m.sup.1 is 1 to 3, and X.sup.2 is a halogen. Alternatively, the compound of the formula (II) is reacted with a halogenation agent to produce a compound which is reacted with a compound of the formula (III) to produce a compound which is heated to form a compound of the formula (Ia).

Abstract: Cyclohexanedione derivatives of the formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, each of R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is independently hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, and n is an integer of 0 to 2, or salts thereof exhibit high selectivity for corn, wheat and barley, and can control gramineous weeds and broad-leaved weeds at low dosages.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivative represented by the general formula given below, a herbicide with the derivative as the active ingredient and a method for the preparation of the derivative. ##STR1## [In the formula, X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a haloalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n is 1, 2 or 3 and A is --O--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --S--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --SO--CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 --, --SO.sub.2 --CR.sup.3 R.sup.4 -- or --SO.sub.2 --NR.sup.3 --. And, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.]These compounds are prepared depending on A in the above given general formula by the reaction of an amine derivative and a trifluoromethanesulfonyl halide or trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride or by the oxidation of a thiochroman ring-containing trifluoromethanesulfonamide derivative.
