  • Publication number: 20240160393
Abstract: Apparatuses related to identifying print jobs for pre-processing are disclosed. In an example apparatus thereof, a header is for pre-rendering a print job stored in a memory of a host device. A data page is for at least one page of the print job stored in the memory of the host device. The header includes job parameters for the pre-rendering. The job parameters include: a system identifier to identify the print job for the pre-rendering; a mode select to set for the pre-rendering; a job identifier to identify the print job from other print jobs by a printer engine or a print manager; and a cache select to set for caching a pre-rendered image for the print job after the pre-rendering thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240143247
Abstract: Pre-rendering prior receiving a command to print is disclosed for a pre-rendering system for online and offline documents. In an example thereof, a plug-in is hosted in a computing device. A system service operative by the computing device is configured for receiving commands from the plug-in. The system service is configured to issue an instruction responsive to a command from the plug-in to at least one of a printing manager of a server or a printer engine of a printing device. The printer engine is configured to pre-render a document image to provide a pre-rendered document image responsive to the instruction. In another example, a plug-in is hosted in a computing device including an image processor. A system service operative by the computing device is configured for receiving commands from the plug-in. • Publication number: 20240126486
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods relating generally to pre-rendering prior receiving a command to print are disclosed. In such a method and system therefor, a determination is made that a document is open. An idle time is identified to pre-render at least a portion of the document prior to assertion of a print command therefor. At least the portion of the document is pre-rendered during the idle time thereof. In another method thereof, a determination is made that a document is offline. The document is determined to be a candidate to be pre-rendered. The document is pre-rendered to provide a rendered version thereof prior to assertion of a print command. The rendered version is cached.

  • Patent number: 11914906
Abstract: Methods related to pre-processing a print job are disclosed. In an example method thereof, it is determined whether a document file is loaded in an application for the print job. Identifying information for the document file is retrieved. A data set obtained from the identifying information is sent to a print manager. A print history for the document file is updated responsive to the data set. The print job includes: pre-rendering of the document file into a document image; and caching of the document image. Print settings of the print job are associated with the document file. The print settings are tracked to provide criteria data to identify frequency of use of the document file.

  • Patent number: 11769025
Abstract: A color printing system includes a printing device and other components that use color printing resources, such as calibration and ICC profiles, to complete color printing operations. These color printing resources are used for a large number of paper types stored in a paper catalog. The paper types can be further placed into paper groups within the paper catalog. The paper groups may be formed by assigning new papers into the paper catalog to those having paper types with existing calibration data and ICC profiles. These relationships are shown in a paper catalog map. The print shop can use the paper catalog map for selling paper types, providing different capabilities for paper types, and other information.

  • Patent number: 11238321
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for encoding data streams are provided. A computing device can receive an encoder-input data stream (EIDS) encoded in a encoder-input format. The computing device can reformat the EIDS into an encoder-output data stream (EODS) encoded in an encoder-output format that differs from the encoder-input format. The EODS can include a page table for pages, resources of the pages that include reusable resources used multiple times, and binary-formatted commands related to the resources, which are stored in stored in first-come, first-served fashion. The page table can refer to pages of the EODS. The EODS can be based on a resource table storing entries for each reusable resource. Each reusable resource is stored only once in the EODS. The computing device can generate an output based on the EODS.

  • Patent number: 11030496
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for decoding data streams are provided. A computing device can receive a decoder-input data stream (DIDS) encoded in a decoder-input format, the DIDS including a page table for pages in the DIDS, resources of the pages in the DIDS, and commands related to the resources, where the commands are in a binary format. The page table can refer to the pages of the DIDS. The resources can include reusable resources that are used multiple times in the DIDS, where each reusable resource is stored only once in the DIDS. The resources can be stored in first-come, first-served fashion in the DIDS. The computing device can decode the DIDS by executing the commands to generate an output depicting the pages.
