  • Patent number: 11841936
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include systems and methods for generating and managing user authentication rules of a computing device. In an example, a computing device may include a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled with the memory and configured to execute the instructions. The processor may determine a state of the computing device, wherein the state of the computing device is one of a locked state or an unlocked state. The processor may determine a user authentication rule corresponding to the state of the computing device. The processor may also identify whether a combination of signals associated with the user authentication rule of the computing device are received by the computing device. The processor may also change or maintain the state of the computing device based on the combination of signals being received.

  • Patent number: 11157388
Abstract: Identifying a trace based on wait chain coverage analysis comprises identifying a scenario covered by a plurality of traces, as well as a plurality of scenario phases. Each phase has corresponding phase beginning and ending, and is covered by corresponding trace(s) of the plurality of traces. For each prior instance of each phase, a corresponding wait chain comprising a series of wait operations is identified. After identifying signatures configured to match a subset of wait operations in wait chain(s), at least a signature coverage is calculated over the identified corresponding wait chains. The signature coverage characterizes portions(s) of these wait chains that are matched by the signature(s). Based on calculating the signature coverage, one or more of the plurality of traces are identified as having unknown wait states, based on the identified trace(s) corresponding to a larger amount of uncovered wait chain portions than others of the plurality of traces.

  • Publication number: 20210318685
Abstract: A method is provided to find an optimal charging station for an electric vehicle travelling along an intended route. Optimality can be based on various factors including relative cost savings, the distance required to detour to a charging station, a station charging level indicating how fast charging takes place, and a safety rating for a charging station. The detour charging station might be a mobile facility. The charging station information is downloaded to the vehicle's navigation system on a regular basis, e.g., daily. Relative cost savings is considered as a percentage of the cost of a reference charging station that is on the route, i.e., that would incur no detour deviation. The detour distance is considered as a percentage of the overall trip distance. An operator of the electric vehicle can set threshold constraints for these factors, and the factors can have different priorities for determining optimality.

  • Publication number: 20190290387
Abstract: We have noticed that during assembly of a marker according to our previous application GB2512416, i.e. one having a solid first component and a liquid second component, a small amount of air is sometimes trapped within a housing of the marker. Precautions can obviously be taken to limit this, but it would be preferable if the structure was resilient to this.

  • Publication number: 20160224780
Abstract: A facility for managing the state of an electronic device is described. A facility determines a maximum-inactivity-to-lock period length and a grace period length. The facility subtracts the grace period length from the maximum-inactivity-to-lock period length to obtain an inactivity-to-disable-display period length. During a time when the device is unlocked and a visual display of the device is enabled, the facility receives one or more first user input events. At a time that is the inactivity-to-disable-display period length after the latest first user input event is received, the facility disables the visual display to begin a grace period. At a time that is less than the grace period length later than the beginning of the grace period, the facility receives a second user input event. In response, the facility enables the visual display in order to provide authenticated access to the device without imposing any further authentication process.

  • Patent number: 6199787
Abstract: A method of winding yarn into hanks, comprising the steps of loading a beam having a sheet of parallel ends of yarn wound thereon onto a rotatable beam stand; unwinding the sheet from the beam and passing the sheet through a nip between two reciprocating rolls; separating the parallel ends of yarn in the sheet from each other; and guiding each of the separated ends of yarn to a rotatable reel. The ends of yarn are then wound onto the rotatable reel by rotating the beam to release the sheet wound thereon; rotating the interacting rolls to draw the sheet through the nip; and rotating the reel to wind each separated end of yarn onto the reel. The rotational velocity of the beam and of the reciprocating rolls are controlled so as to keep the tension on the sheet of yarns below a defined value. By controlling tension, one reduces the likelihood of thread breakage and causes the yarns to be wound onto the reels in the form of loose hanks.
