  • Patent number: 11662230
Abstract: A recorder for documenting that a shaft in a rotating machine has been rotated while the rotating machine is stored or otherwise out of service. The recorder includes an elongated strip that is wound on a reel disposed adjacent the shaft. The reel is rotatable about an axle that is spaced away from the shaft. A free end of the strip is secured to an outer surface of the shaft and spools onto the shaft as the shaft is rotated, and which unwinds the strip from the reel. Markings are on the strip representing distance from the free end, which visually indicate occurrence and amount of shaft rotation. Types of markings include different colors or patterns, and which change at distances corresponding to shaft circumference. Alternatively, the markings are metered increments illustrating linear distance.

  • Patent number: 11169287
Abstract: A method may include obtaining an initial velocity model regarding a subterranean formation of interest. The method may further include generating various seismic migration gathers with different cross-correlation lag values based on a migration-velocity analysis and the initial velocity model. The method may further include selecting a predetermined cross-correlation lag value automatically using the seismic migration gathers and based on a predetermined criterion. The method may further include determining various velocity boundaries within the initial velocity model using a trained model, wherein the trained model is trained by human-picked boundary data and augmented boundary data. The method may further include updating, by the computer processor, the initial velocity model using the velocity boundaries, the automatically-selected cross-correlation lag value, and the migration-velocity analysis to produce an updated velocity model.

  • Publication number: 20190187310
Abstract: A subsalt imaging tool and seismic imaging process for complex geological environments such as subsalt structures having a rugged seafloor topology are provided. The subsalt imaging tool operates on stacked data as opposed to prestack data and uses a wave equation tomography to iteratively update a velocity model. Improved seismic images that improve the visibility of various events may be produced using the updated velocity model.

  • Publication number: 20110278058
Abstract: There is an electromagnetic interference shield and methods of constructing an electromagnetic interference shield. An electromagnetic interference shield has a network of conductive nanowires dispersed in a matrix material. The conductive nanowires form a segregated network. The segregated network may be a honeycomb network In a method for constructing an electromagnetic interference shield, a composite of conductive nanowires and matrix material is produced. Pockets of matrix material are formed within the composite of nanowires and matrix material. The pockets of matrix material may be formed by precipitation of the matrix material from a solvent or through dry-mixing of the composite with a second matrix material.
