  • Patent number: 9883101
Abstract: A 360 degree panorama can capture a view of a real world environment. The view can be a 360 panorama which can conform to a stereographic projection. The capturing can be performed by a one shot panoramic video capture device lacking a display. A 360 degree arc frame can be analyzed to determine a one-to-one mapping to a target projection. The target projection can be a cylindrical or an equirectangular projection. The stereographic projection can be mapped to the target projection in real-time without performing a digital stitching operation within the device. Distortion in the target projection resulting from the mapping can be corrected. The target projection can be conveyed in real-time wirelessly to a display of a communicatively linked computing device.

  • Patent number: 9860444
Abstract: A stereographic image associated with a panoramic camera can be identified. The panoramic camera can include of a set of lenses and an image sensor. A pixel degradation curve associated with the image and/or the hardware of the panoramic camera can be determined, as can a sensor geometry of an image sensor used by the panoramic camera. A fixed smoothing function based on the pixel degradation curve and/or the sensor geometry can be created. The fixed smoothing function can be applied to a stereographic image to modify the image so it includes substantially uniform image detail per image region.

  • Patent number: 9723206
Abstract: A stereographic panoramic media (SPM) can be received. The media can include a 360 degree field of view (FoV) within the horizontal plane and a usable FoV within the vertical plane. A first, second, and third field of view associated with the SPM can be identified. The first FoV can be 180 degree field of view and the second and third FoVs can encompass 90 degree FoV within the horizontal plane. The SPM can be translated to a cylindrical panoramic media (CPM). The CPM can conforms to a three dimensional hollow cylindrical projection (CP). The first FoV of the SPM can be mapped onto the inner surface of the CP, and the first and the second field of view can be mapped onto the outer surface. The CPM can provide a visible continuous field of view of at least 270 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20170195563
Abstract: A low-profile panoramic camera is disclosed comprising an elongated camera body and a panoramic lens. The panoramic lens has a principle longitudinal axis and a field of view angle of greater than 180°. A portion of the camera body adjacent to the panoramic lens comprises a surface defining a rake angle that is outside the field of view angle. The panoramic camera has a total height less than a length of the camera body.

  • Patent number: 9674433
Abstract: A calibration method can begin by positioning a calibration image source around and substantially proximate to the exterior surface of a panoramic optical device that utilizes a conical quadric reflector having an aperture in its apex. The calibration image source can be made of a material that is substantially transparent to allow the passage of environmental light and can utilize a predetermined color palette having a calibration feature, such as a geometric shape and/or a line, which is in a known location. A quadric image of the calibration image source can then be captured. Coordinates for a visual image center of the calibration image can be determined by an image center calibration program using the location of the calibration feature. The visual image center can be the point around which a quadric image is transformed into a visually-correct panorama. The determined visual image center coordinates can be stored.

  • Patent number: 9542816
Abstract: A wearable alert device includes an audio transducer and driver circuit that allows selection of either a high or low volume setting for driving the transducer. The driver circuit is operable in a single ended mode for low volume and a double ended mode for high volume. The single ended mode holds one terminal of the transducer low while the other is driven in correspondence with a clock signal, while the double ended mode drives one terminal in correspondence with the clock signal and the other terminal is inverted from the clock signal. The transducer is activated in response to an alert event, and can be driven according to a profile or pattern.

  • Publication number: 20070147316
Abstract: A device, method, and system for communicating with at least one target wireless device are disclosed. The method includes initiating, by an originating wireless device (104), a communication using a first communication service with a target wireless device (106). The originating wireless device (104) determines that the target wireless device (106) is unavailable for the communication with the originating wireless device. In response to this determination, the originating wireless device (104) communicates with the target wireless device (106) by at initiating a communication using the second communication service with the second multi-mode wireless device (106); transmitting a voicemail message associated with the second multi-mode wireless (106) device using the second communication service; or transmitting a voice message using the first communication service, wherein the voice message is stored locally on the target wireless device (106).
