Publication number: 20160173026Abstract: A photovoltaic panel assembly includes a center photovoltaic panel section having at least a first and second side photovoltaic panel sections located on each side of the center photovoltaic panel section. Each of the photovoltaic panels are encased in a flexible material. The first and second photovoltaic panel sections fold over the center photovoltaic section in a closed configuration and open beside the center photovoltaic section in an open configuration. A flexible flap has a first edge connected to the first side photovoltaic panel section and a second edge removeably connected to the second side photovoltaic panel section for securing the photovoltaic panel assembly in the closed configuration. A collapsible stand supports the photovoltaic panel assembly in a upright position in the open configuration and collapses to enable storage with the photovoltaic panel assembly in the closed configuration. The collapsible stand is connected to a backside of the photovoltaic panel assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2015Publication date: June 16, 2016Inventors: ESMOND GOEI, MOK TIONG TAN

Patent number: 9236751Abstract: A portable solar energy generation system has a solar energy receiver having a plurality of solar cells for converting solar energy into a DC voltage. A solar tracking mechanism enables the solar energy receiver to track a position of the sun with respect to the solar cells and to position the solar cells responsive thereto. Power circuitry generates at least one output voltage to power an electronic device responsive to the DC voltage. A housing contains each of the solar energy receiver, the solar tracking mechanism and the power circuitry in a portable configuration.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2013Date of Patent: January 12, 2016Assignee: ASPECT SOLAR PTE LTDInventors: Esmond T. Goei, Andrew E. Goei, Mok Tiong Tan, Haryadi Marnyo, Li Lei, Ryan Flores Mejia, Yen Chin

Publication number: 20150102762Abstract: A portable, solar energy charger, comprises a plurality of panels. Each panel contains at least one solar cell for generating electrical energy responsive to solar energy. Each of the plurality of panels are interconnected to enable the plurality of panels to be folded on top of each other in a single stack in a closed configuration and to be unfolded to receive sunlight in an open configuration. A connector connects each of the plurality of panels to at least one other panel of the plurality of panels. The connector provides both a mechanical connection and an electrical connection between panels. The connector enables a first panel to be folded on top of a second panel and protect the at least one solar cells on the first panel and the second panel between the first panel and the second panel. A securing mechanism maintains the plurality of panels together in the closed configuration when the panels are folded on each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2014Publication date: April 16, 2015Inventors: ESMOND GOEI, MOK TIONG TAN, ANDREW GOEI, HARYADI MARNYO, RYAN FLORES MEJIA

Publication number: 20150022001Abstract: A modular power backup system has a plurality of smart battery packs for storing electrical energy. Each of the plurality of smart battery packs includes a first power and control connector. A battery pack rack defines a plurality of slots for holding the plurality of smart battery packs. Each of the plurality of slots includes a second power and control connector for interconnecting with the first power and control connector of a smart battery pack of the plurality of smart battery packs. First control circuitry associated with the at least one battery pack rack selectively pools electrical energy from the plurality of smart battery packs into one or more electrical energy outputs.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2014Publication date: January 22, 2015Inventors: ESMOND T. GOEI, ANDREW GOEI, U KYAW THU RA, YEN CHIN, HARYADI MAMYO, MOK TIONG TAN, HSIN WOH MAH, RYAN MEJIA
