The layout determination method prevents creation of a new page even when content data to be arranged overflows from the predetermined page.

The document management apparatus executes processes within the processing tasks on a document that is inputted into the document management apparatus, and performs output processing on the document, according to the job flow that the user has directed for execution. The document management apparatus obtains the properties of the document from the document property management apparatus when the document is inputted, and changes the content of either the process or the output according to the properties in question.

The sizes of the field areas in the template are calculated on the basis of the amounts or sizes of data of the data fields for each record, and the layout of the calculated field areas in the template is determined. The change amount of the field area after the layout is determined is calculated. On the basis of the calculated change amount, the order of records which form a document to be displayed is changed to display the records.

Abstract: According to an information processing method of generating a flow by coupling a plurality of processes, one of the plurality of processes is set by referring to a memory in which process information for defining input data and output data of each of the plurality of processes is registered, in order to generate a flow. Processes capable of outputting input data of the set process are acquired as candidate processes from the plurality of processes by referring to the process information in the memory. The acquired candidate processes are presented. A selected candidate process is connected as a process at the previous stage of the set process in accordance with an operation to select one of the presented candidate processes.
