Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for contextual adjustment of thresholds of user interestedness for triggering video recording. An embodiment takes the form of a method that includes identifying one or more current contextual attributes of a current context of a user. The method also includes setting a current value of a stored interestedness threshold based at least in part on the one or more identified current contextual attributes. The method also includes obtaining one or more current physiological measurements of the user. The method also includes deriving an interestedness score based at least in part on the one or more obtained current physiological measurements. The method also includes comparing the derived interestedness score to the current value of the stored interestedness threshold. The method also includes initiating video recording when the derived interestedness score exceeds the current value of the stored interestedness threshold.

Abstract: Providing a reminder of a task to be performed at a task location includes receiving location information identifying a location of a user via a mobile communication device associated with the user, receiving information that identifies a task, receiving information that identifies a task location, and providing a reminder for the task based on a current location of the user and on a comparison of an estimated probability of the user traveling in a trajectory leading toward or away from the task location.

Abstract: A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify one or more regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. One of the one or more regions is selected based on a recipient's interaction with the selected region including whether the user has shared with or received from the recipient the descriptor associated with the selected region. The descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for improved navigation assistance by providing overview directions focusing on points where other users tend to make mistakes or display emotional responses, such as stress, that indicate that they feel they may make mistakes. In an exemplary method, a navigation process receives information about a present user's navigation route, the present user's status, and the user history. The navigation service compiles the received information and determines an enhanced navigation route.

Abstract: A method, system, and device for naming a location at which a user is present with a mobile communication device, including retrieving general information relating to the location, the general information managed by or for an entity other than the user; comparing the retrieved general information relating the location to user-specific information managed by or for the user; identifying at least one atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information; generating a plurality of names for the location based on the atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information providing the plurality of names for the location for selection; and storing the name selected for the location from the plurality of names.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that permit social media users to delay posting social media updates to various social media recipients based on location privacy concerns. In one embodiment, a social media updated created by a user is received. A location-based suggested time delay associated with a social media recipient is generated. The user is presented with a suggested time delay, and a user-selected time delay is received. The social media update is sent to the social media recipient only after the selected time delay elapses.

Abstract: Methods and systems that implement enhanced user interactions with a grid are described. A method may include generating a grid of cells arranged in a number of rows and columns. Each row may correspond to a data record of a database. The grid may be displayed to a user while identifying one or more cells as editable cells. Input data may be received from the user for each of the editable cells. The input data may be validated using predefined criteria to identify incorrect input data and errors associated with the incorrect input data may be displayed to the user. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for identifying a location to be named including determining user-specific location information for a mobile device, the user-specific location information including at least one of a number of times a mobile device user is present at or near a location and an amount of time the mobile device user is present at or near the location. The location is identified as a location of interest based on the determined user-specific location information. One or more suggested names are determined for the location based on the identifying the location as the location of interest. A user prompt for selecting the location of interest from the one or more suggested names for the location is provided for presenting at the mobile device. An indication that the location is the location of interest is received from the mobile device.

Abstract: A method and system for operating a reputation sharing system is disclosed. The method includes detecting an object of interest at an augmented reality system. The method also includes receiving user annotation information, detecting and preparing object recognition information, and detecting and preparing motion information associated with the object of the interest at the augmented reality system. The augmented reality system sends a set of information associated with the object of interest to a reputation service. The set of information includes the object recognition information, the motion information, and the annotation information.

Abstract: A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify one or more regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. One of the one or more regions is selected based on a recipient's interaction with the selected region including whether the user has shared with or received from the recipient the descriptor associated with the selected region. The descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient.

The location naming component is configured to provide a prompt for naming the location of interest for presentation by a graphical user interface component. Abstract: Systems and methods for a user cognitive load service are described. A cognitive load service runs on a user computing device such as a smart phone. A subscribing application on the device sends a subscription request to the cognitive load service, where the subscription request identifies a set of one or more focus applications. The cognitive load service generates a cognitive load score of the user based on the user's interaction with the device with respect to the focus applications. The service periodically sends the cognitive load score to the subscribing application. The subscribing application adjusts its user interface based on the cognitive load score.

Abstract: Systems and methods are providing for handling notifications across multiple devices associated with a user. A notification, such as an alert, is sent by an application server to a plurality of user devices associated with a user. The notification may be sent as a push notification. When the user interacts with the notification on one of the associated user devices, the device sends a report to the application regarding the extent to which the user has interacted with the notification. In response to the report regarding the extent of user interaction, the application sends a message downgrading the notification on other devices associated with the user. The message may be downgraded on other devices only if the user has interacted with the notification on a device designated as a primary device.

Each region is associated with a descriptor. The recipient's interaction with each of the regions is indicated and it is provided for at least one region to be selected based on the recipient's interaction with the selected region. The descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for selecting and presenting a route to a user. An exemplary embodiment includes storing a plurality of associations, each association between a route taken by a user and at least one safety characteristic of the route. Received from a particular user is a request for at least one recommended route to a destination point. A query is formulated based on user specified parameters, including an origination point, the destination point, and a safety characteristic, to obtain routes taken by other users. A plurality of routes taken by other users based on a safety characteristic of the routes and related to at least one of an origin region and a destination region is retrieved from the associations. At least one recommended route is recommended to the user based on at least one of the retrieved routes that most closely matches the specified parameters.
