  • Patent number: 10425239
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems, methods, and computer programs are presented. An exemplary embodiment of a method includes a conferencing system establishing an audio conference between a plurality of participants via a communication network; providing a conference user interface to the plurality of participants; in response to a first participant speaking during the audio conference, a second participant indicating via the conference user interface that the first participant has low-quality audio; the conferencing system polling one or more additional participants to specify via the conference user interface audio quality feedback associated with the first participant; determining from the feedback the first participant has low-quality audio; attempting to correct the audio connection with the first participant, if unable to correct the audio connection, notifying the first participant of the low-quality audio with suggested actions.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems, methods, and computer programs are disclosed for providing crowd-sourced audio quality feedback in a conferencing system. An exemplary embodiment of a method comprises: a conferencing system establishing an audio conference between a plurality of participants via a communication network; providing a conference user interface to the plurality of participants; in response to a first participant speaking during the audio conference, a second participant indicating via the conference user interface that the first participant has low quality audio; and the conferencing system polling one or more additional participants to specify via the conference user interface audio quality feedback associated with the first participant.

  • Patent number: 9332574
Abstract: A method of establishing a persistent emergency call and positional indication of the call is provided. Upon a call center receiving a call by a user equipment (UE) device, a request for a the UE device to perform a function, such as provide its current location, is issued and a pseudo hold mode initiated by temporarily severing the voice call. The user of the UE device is aware of the pseudo hold mode but unaware of the call termination. While on the pseudo hold mode, the current location is determined, the call is subsequently reestablished and the pseudo hold mode terminated.

  • Patent number: 9295087
Abstract: A method of establishing a persistent emergency call and positional indication of the call is provided. Upon a call center receiving a call by a user equipment (UE) device initiated by activation of a smart button, the call center issues a request for a current location. If the call is inadvertently terminated by the user prior to the emergency being cleared, the UE device, attempts to reestablish the call automatically and continually. Prior to initiating the call, if the UE device is in airplane mode or standby mode, these modes are automatically switched off and location services are enabled.

  • Patent number: 9282436
Abstract: An example method includes connecting to a call center by a user equipment (UE) device via a voice call and receiving a request for a current location. The device is determined to be in an outdoor environment if the signal strength of satellite signals used by a global positioning system (GPS) is greater than a threshold. The device is determined to be in an indoor environment if a beacon signal strength is greater than a further threshold. If the device is in an outdoor environment, the current location is determined using a standalone or assisted GPS method. If the device is in an indoor environment, the current location is the known location of the beacon or an assisted GPS method. If neither the signal strength of the satellite signals nor the signal strength of the beacon exceeds its respective threshold, the current location is determined as a last stored location.

  • Patent number: 9128796
Abstract: A system and method for updating an accessory device are described. A software upgrade for upgrading an accessory device is received from a wireless network at a wireless device. In response, it is automatically determined at the wireless device whether the accessory device is in communication with the wireless device. Upon determining that the accessory device is in communication with the wireless device, the software upgrade is forwarded from the wireless device to the accessory device to enable upgrade of the accessory device according to the software upgrade.

  • Patent number: 8762057
Abstract: A first mobile device is allowed to persistently lock onto a second mobile device, thereby allowing the first mobile device to not only constantly monitor the dynamic location of the second mobile device but also to adaptively navigate in real-time to the dynamic location associated with the second mobile device. The dynamic location may include a current location of the second mobile device or a final destination for travel of the second mobile device.
