Abstract: Disclosed are a liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof facilitating a cell-cutting process in cutting cells by the process of simultaneous scribing and breaking. The present invention includes a substrate, a closed-end main UV-hardening sealant on the substrate, and a closed-end dummy UV-hardening sealant on a periphery of the main UV-hardening sealant, wherein a width of one portion of the closed-end dummy UV-hardening sealant overlapped with a scribing line is narrower than the width of the other portions.

Abstract: An LCD device and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed, in which a sealant concentrated upon the end of a dispensing device is formed in a dummy region on a substrate, so that a liquid crystal layer is not contaminated when both substrates are attached to each other and a cell cutting process can easily be performed. The method of manufacturing an LCD device includes preparing a lower substrate and an upper substrate, forming an auxiliary UV sealant in a dummy region on one of the lower and upper substrate and forming a main UV sealant, applying a liquid crystal on one of the lower and upper substrates, attaching the lower and upper substrates, and irradiating UV light onto the attached substrates.

Abstract: A mask holder for irradiating UV-rays is disclosed in the present invention. The mask holder includes a lower part having a frame and a mask supporting member supporting a mask, wherein the mask supporting member is in the frame and has a plurality of first connecting portions, and an upper part having a plurality of second connecting portions to be aligned with the first connecting portions.

Abstract: A UV irradiating device and a method of manufacturing an LCD device using the same are disclosed. The UV irradiating device includes a UV light source part having a UV lamp and a reflecting plate, a support supporting the UV light source part, and a stage on which a substrate is placed, the UV light source being irradiated at a tilt angle upon the substrate. The UV is irradiated upon the substrate on which the UV sealant is formed, so that a sealant can be hardened even if a light-shielding layer or a metal line layer are formed between a UV irradiating surface and the UV sealant.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device including forming a UV-hardening sealant on at least one of the first and second substrates, dropping a liquid crystal on one of the first and second substrates, attaching the first and second substrates to each other, aligning at least one mask with the attached substrates so as to expose only an area having the sealant formed thereon, and hardening the UV-hardening sealant by applying UV-rays through the mask to the attached substrates.
