Patent number: 9666959Abstract: A wire harness includes a plurality of covered electrical wires where an insulation sheath is peeled off of each covered electrical wire to expose a lead wire end portion, a connection terminal fixed to an end portion of the covered electrical wire, a heat-shrinkable tube having a hot-melt adhesive laminated to an inner surface thereof covering a predetermined area in a heat-shrunk state, and a connector that irremovably houses the connection terminal in each terminal insertion hole. A connection-side end surface of the connector that is on a side where the connection terminal is connected is positioned so as to conform to an end of the heat shrunk heat-shrinkable tube near a first barrel portion. The connector has a holding tube portion extending integrally from the connection-side end surface and that covers the heat shrunk heat-shrinkable tube, the holding tube portion having a tubular hole that holds the heat-shrinkable tube.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2016Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD.Inventor: Morichika Yamamoto

Patent number: 9660429Abstract: A electrical wire protection tube and a wire harness that can prevent breakage of a wire arranged in the handle swing portion of a two-wheeled vehicle. The electrical wire protection tube includes a tube main body portion made up of ring-shaped ribs and small-diameter short tube portions that are a resin molded body and are alternatingly arranged in a single line so as to form one passageway for an electrical wire. Each ring-shaped ribs has a maximum-diameter ridgeline portion and first and second truncated cone surface portions that are respectively located on different sides of the ridgeline portion and are inclined toward the small-diameter short tube portions. When the tube main body portion is bent into a U shape, the small-diameter short tube portions stretch on one side such that the first and second truncated cone surface portions of adjacent ring-shaped ribs come into close contact on the opposite side.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2016Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventor: Morichika Yamamoto

Patent number: 9576700Abstract: A binding tape member and a wire harness having a binding tape member configured to having the same function of conventional wire harnesses without the need for corrugated tube, pre-wrapping or post wrapping. The binding tape member has a tape member body that covers a group of electrical lines by being wrapped around the group of electrical lines. The tape body has a trapezoidal upper surface portion with an upper side and a lower side that correspond to the tape width end edges and a trapezoidal lower surface portion facing a direction opposite to the trapezoidal upper surface portion are alternatingly arranged in the tape length direction. Also, in a trapezoidal upper surface portion and a trapezoidal lower surface portion that are adjacent to each other, sides thereof in the tape length direction are connected to each other in an integrated manner by a rectangular side wall portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2016Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventor: Morichika Yamamoto

Patent number: 9555749Abstract: A wire harness configured to protect the group of lead wires having a large curve such that there is no risk of the binding tape-type protection portion exposing the group of lead wires is provided. The wire harness includes a group of lead wires and a binding tape-type protection portion that covers the group of lead wires. The binding tape-type protection portion is formed by overlapping a binding tape member around the group of lead wires. The binding tape member includes a tape member body that is made of a synthetic resin and is molded such that the cross-sectional shape orthogonal to the lengthwise direction is a four-triangle wave shape, and an adhesive layer formed on one surface of the tape member body.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2016Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Kuniaki Kamijo, Morichika Yamamoto

Patent number: 9536639Abstract: A wire harness is provided in which, by merely overlap wrapping a binding tape member around a group of lead wires, intruding water can be guided to the outside. The wire harness includes a group of lead wires and a binding tape-type protection portion that covers the group of lead wires. The binding tape-type protection portion is formed by overlap wrapping a binding tape member around the group of lead wires, the binding tape member having a tape member body made of a synthetic resin and an adhesive layer formed on one surface of the tape member body. The tape member body has a plurality of water drain holes that are provided so as to penetrate the wall of the tape member body in the width direction, and that are provided in the lengthwise direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2016Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Morichika Yamamoto, Masataka Wakabayashi

Patent number: 5195908Abstract: A multicircuit cable connector which includes a multicircuit, an insulation layer thereon, and a matching circuit which is placed on the layer. The multicircuit is a plurality of conductive strips which run along the length of the cable. The matching circuit is a means for interconnecting certain of the strips with one another and consists of interconnecting portions carrying terminals thereon. The interconnecting portions extend transversely of the cable and their length and location are determined by the arrangement of conductive strips in the cable and which of them are to be connected to each other. A U-shaped clip of generally channel shape is provided and the bottom thereof is pressed against a multicircuit conductor and the sides extend through the layer and are crimped onto the terminals on the interconnecting portions of the matching circuit, thereby completing the connection.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1991Date of Patent: March 23, 1993Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuo Yamamoto, Yasuharu Moriai, Kuniharu Kusumoto, Morichika Yamamoto, Tetsuaki Wada
