  • Patent number: 6694639
Abstract: A sheet material, a production method therefor and a drying apparatus is provided wherein a heating gas comprising mainly superheated steam is blown directly to reach the sheet internal water content via a permeable belt for restricting free shrinkage of the sheet, to give instantaneous evaporation (pressure flow) and form a porous sheet. A wet sheet 35 is clamped between an externally heated rotor 1 having heated gas blowing ports 19 for blowing heated gas from an outer peripheral direction, and a permeable endless fabric belt 36 which moves in synchronous with the rotor under a tension capable of restraining dry shrinkage of the sheet material, to thereby give rapid direct moisture evaporation and form a porous sheet.

  • Patent number: 6203666
Abstract: In the present invention, in a process in which a fiber suspension supplied in a flat layer manner is subjected to natural dehydration, pressure dehydration, or suction dehydration, while circulating a cylindrical suction cylinder, and thereby, dehydration slowly proceeds and a paper web is formed, and this paper web is moved to an endless felt by means of a suction couch roll to produce paper, a tapered suction roll sleeve 6, the outer peripheral surface of which is cylindrical and the inner peripheral surface of which has an inclination identical to that of the outer circumference of the tapered suction roll cell 5 is attached and detached, and thereby, it becomes easy to conduct the attachment and detachment of various types of wires wound on tapered suction roll sleeve 6.

  • Patent number: 5749693
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for picking up a ream of packaged sheets of a desired kind from a plurality of reams of one or more kinds stacked up on a respective one of cells in an automated warehouse and loading the picked-up ream of packaged sheets on a pallet. In the invention, a pick-up device, having a picking, gripping and pulling mechanism and a discharging and stacking mechanism, is located at a position adjacent to a respective cell by traveling the pick-up device horizontally and/or vertically. The pallet is located at a prescribed position. The pick-up device is operated to pick-up the ream of packaged sheet of the desired kind from the plurality of reams of one or more kinds stacked up on a respective cell. Specifically, the picking, gripping and pulling mechanism is operated to pick upwards and grip the ream of packaged sheets to pull the same, and the pulling and piling mechanism is operated to withdraw the pulled ream of packaged sheets and stack the same on the pallet.

  • Patent number: 5720853
Abstract: In a method for forming a sheet from a fiber-water suspension, the fiber-water suspension is supplied on a traveling bottom wire at a first zone thereof to dewater the fiber-water suspension. Subsequently, the suspension is introduced between the bottom wire at a second zone and a top wire, and dewatering is effected. The sheet is further caused to travel around a sheet-forming roll while keeping the sheet in contact therewith by the bottom wire at a third zone thereof, and reformation of the sheet is carried out. Finally, the sheet on the bottom wire is caused to travel up to a fourth zone thereof to effect a further dewatering with a fourth dewatering device disposed adjacent to the bottom wire at the fourth zone thereof, whereby a final stage of sheet formation is carried out. An apparatus for carrying out the above method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5647141
Abstract: An apparatus for drying a wet sheet material such as a paper web is presented. The apparatus is provided with a suitable number of dryer cylinders operating in conjunction with a plurality of steam blast ports disposed adjacent to the dryer cylinders. A vertically movable canopy hood and a middle hood having sheet entry/exit opening and a door opening device are provided. The wet sheet material is held between two endless fabric belts, and passed through the dryer cylinders alternatively via suction fabric rolls, fabric rolls and fabric tension rolls. The drying process is carried out in an atmosphere of superheated steam of over 100.degree. C. inside the canopy hood and the middle hood, and the steam generated from the wet sheets is recirculated through an exhaust screen, a super heated steam circulating fan, an adiabatic compressor and a supply duct. Another atmosphere of heated moist air having a dew point of at least 80.degree. C. is also employed.

  • Patent number: 4838751
Abstract: In a method of and a system for unpacking bales each tied by at least one strap, a contact plate member provided with a strap sensor unit is mounted, through a biasing arrangement, on a body frame for movement relative thereto. The body frame is moved toward a confronting side face of the bale to bring the contact plate member into contact with the side face of the bale. The body frame is further moved toward the bale while increasing biasing force of the biasing arrangement, until contact pressure, with which the contact plate member is urged against the side face of the bale, reaches a predetermined value. When the contact plate member is urged by the bale in such a direction as to increase the biasing force during scanning of the strap sensor unit along the side face of the bale, the body frame is moved away from the bale to maintain the contact pressure at the predetermined value.
