  • Publication number: 20020154020
Abstract: In a passenger weight measuring apparatus, each of bend parts of front and rear brackets for supporting a seat to a vehicle main body side becomes bent and deformed in response to the load applied by the weight of the passenger sit in the seat. A load sensor on each the bend part detects the load based on the bend deformation and outputs a voltage signal of magnitude responsive to the load to a signal processor. The processor generates a load detection signal clamped in the voltage range corresponding to a preset passenger weight load range from the voltage signal and outputs the load detection signal to an output terminal. When the detected load is a collision load set in a load region out of the load range, the processor outputs an abnormal load detection signal different from the load detection signal to the same output terminal.

  • Patent number: 6467804
Abstract: A vehicle seat that detects a child restraint apparatus, which is attached to the seat by a seat belt, for operation of an air bag. A first load sensor is attached to one side of the seat to detect load and generate a first detection value. A second load sensor is attached to the seat at an opposite side of the seat to detect load and generate a second detection value. A control unit is connected to the first and second load sensors and determines whether the child restraint apparatus is present based on the first and second detection values.

  • Publication number: 20020118104
Abstract: A passenger determination device includes a load sensor attached to a seat main body, a controller for calculating a detected load value on the basis of an outputted load value of the load sensor and for determining a passenger on the basis of a large and small relationship between the detected load value and a predetermined determination threshold value, a load variations detecting device for detecting variations of the detected load value when the large and small relationship between the detected load value and a predetermined determination threshold value changes and a prohibition device for prohibiting from changing the determination of the passenger by the change of the large and small relationship between the detected load value and a predetermined determination threshold value when the detected load variations is small.

  • Publication number: 20020070853
Abstract: A vehicle seat having a load sensor arranged on a seat body for generating a load signal corresponding to a load applied to the seat body, a detecting means for detecting whether a seat belt is buckled to the vehicle seat and generating a detection signal, and a determining means for comparing the load signal and a predetermined value in response to the detection signal when the seat belt is buckled and judging that an adult is not seated on the seat body when the load signal is less than the predetermined value. The seated condition of the vehicle seat is detected properly by the determination result of the determining means.

  • Publication number: 20020041236
Abstract: A weight detector for detecting the weight of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat includes a first load sensor and a second load sensor provided on opposite sides of a rear portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the first and second load sensors has a predetermined detection range. The weight detector further includes a third load sensor and a fourth load sensor provided on opposite sides of a front portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the third and fourth load sensors has a predetermined detection range. If a detection value based on a load acquired by one of the first through fourth load sensors exceeds its detection range, the weight detector uses an old value that was determined under proper condition. Otherwise, the weight detector determines the size of the passenger based on the currently detected values.

  • Patent number: 6253133
Abstract: A sitting state detector of the present invention has an electrode which is installed in a seat back and which has a capacitance fluctuating depending on whether or not a passenger sits in a normal posture, conversion means for generating an electric signal corresponding to the capacitance, means which detects predetermined changes in the electric signal and which generates a detection signal indicative of whether or not the passenger sits in the normal posture, a sitting state sensor for a seat cushion, and control means which adjusts the conversion means for standardizing the electric signal at intervals of a short period and by a great amount in the absence of a sitting passenger and which adjusts the conversion means at intervals of a long period and by a small amount in the presence of a sitting passenger.

  • Patent number: 4985103
Abstract: A method of fabricating a cylindrical ceramic laminated body includes the steps of forming a ceramic green sheet on a carrier film, laminating the ceramic green sheet on a base plate having a flat upper surface, releasing the ceramic green sheet from the carrier film, applying a joining agent on the ceramic green sheet, and then winding the ceramic green sheet while releasing it from the base plate, thereby obtaining a cylindrical laminated roll.
