  • Patent number: 9278068
Abstract: Vesicle compositions are provided that comprise a therapeutic compound. The vesicle compositions may be capable of releasing the therapeutic compound in response to the presence of an external trigger. The vesicle compositions may comprise a plurality of biocompatible vesicles. The biocompatible vesicles may comprise a therapeutic compound for treatment of a patient in need thereof, and one or more cross-linkages between two or more of the biocompatible vesicles, each cross-linkage comprising a chemical sensing moiety and a sensed moiety. In some embodiments, the therapeutic compound may be any compound that provides palliative, curative, or otherwise beneficial effects to a patent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 10, 2014
Date of Patent: March 8, 2016
Assignees: Board of Regents of the University of Texas System, Sensulin, LLC
Inventors: Ananth Annapragada, Indrani Dasgupta, Eric Tanifum, Mayank Srivastava, Mostafa Analoui

  • Publication number: 20070083114
Abstract: A system for providing enhanced digital images includes an image receiving device for accepting at least one digital image and obtaining digital information therefrom; a computer program product comprising machine readable instructions stored on machine readable media, the instructions for providing enhanced digital images by performing upon the at least one digital image at least one of: a minimum directional derivative search, a multi-channel median boosted anisotropic diffusion, an non-homogeneous anisotropic diffusion technique and a pixel compounding technique.

  • Patent number: 6405071
Abstract: A computer-based imaging technique for three dimensional modeling of root canal shape and accurate measuring of root canal length is provided. A direct digital radiology (DDR) system that replaces film by an electronic sensor is used to acquire radiographic images of the root canal. The DDR system allows instant radiographic imaging with significantly less patient exposure than conventional film-based radiography. Additionally, since the images are captured in digital form, a computer is used for processing. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, two digital images of the dentition from two different angles are acquired. The root canal in each image, along with the direction of projection will define a surface in 3-D space. The intersection of two surfaces will represent the root canal in 3-D. Once the 3-D shape of the root canal is reconstructed, the length of the root canal can be obtained by computing the length of the 3-D curve.
