  • Patent number: 5159827
Abstract: A transferring apparatus for a transfer press machine which includes a plurality of working stations disposed in a work-transferring direction and provided with lower dies and upper dies cooperating to press workpieces, so that the workpieces are sequentially transferred between the working stations. A plurality of sets of pairs of left and right carriages are associated with one of the working stations. The spacings between adjacent twos of the sets of the carriages are adjusted in said transferring direction during operation. At least one cross bar is mounted to extend between the left and right carriages of each set and has suction cups mounted on an intermediate portion thereof for holding the workpiece. The cross bar is cyclically movable in the transferring direction and in a vertical direction. A pair of left and right guide bars vertically movably are mounted to extend along opposite sides of the working stations to provide the cyclic motion of the cross bar.

  • Patent number: 5148697
Abstract: A path for retreating movement of a cross bar from a standby position between a drawing mold and a mold of the next step to the drawing mold for holding the workpiece drawn by the drawing mold and a path for advancing movement of the cross bar holding the workpiece to the mold of the next step are formed into an upwardly smoothly curved line, and raising of a blank holder for the drawing mold is stopped temporarily for a period until the workpiece is discharged from the drawing mold by the cross bar. The paths for movement of the cross bar includes no suddenly turning portion and hence, any vibration of the cross bar due to an inertia force is prevented. Even if the paths for movement of the cross bar associated with all the molds are established in the same form, it is avoided that the cross bar or the workpiece interferes with the blank holder in the drawing mold.

  • Patent number: 4941793
Abstract: In a system for removing press-formed parts formed in a pressing machine, a loading transfer device is disposed between an ejection position to which a plurality of press-formed parts are simultaneously ejected in parallel from the pressing machine and a loading position established to load the press-formed parts onto each of a plurality of carrier pallets which are on standby in parallel to individually correspond to the plurality of press-formed parts. The loading transfer device comprises a plurality of transfer pallets connected to one another with variable spacings therebetween and reciprocally movable in parallel between the ejection position and the loading position so that the plurality of press-formed parts may be placed onto the individual transfer pallets, and a spacing-varying drive device for varying the spacing between the transfer pallets. During transferring of the press-formed parts by the loading transfer device, the spacing between the press-formed parts is varied.

  • Patent number: 4688668
Abstract: A transfer system for moving workpieces between a plurality of processing stations in sequential order. A pair of guide rails extend in a workpiece transferring direction on opposed sides of the stations and are movable up and down by a driving mechanism. A plurality of arm carriages are movable along the guide rails and are joined to one another by longitudinally extending connecting bars. A plurality of handling arms extend laterally between opposed pairs of the carriages. All of the arm carriages are moved as a group by a carriage driving mechanism. Auxiliary guide rails can be fixed to the carriages extending in parallel with the main guide rails. The handling arms can be movable longitudinally along the auxiliary guide rails. Rack and pinion mechanisms can be mounted on the arm carriages and the handling arms and interconnected with each other so as to drive each pair of arms in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 4358263
Abstract: A press of improved moldability and operation efficiency, including an upper movable die having a concave bottom surface, a lower, stationary arc having a convex top surface conforming to the concave bottom surface of the upper die, a blank holder arranged around the lower die for vertical sliding movement, and a blank support lever arm pivotally mounted on top of the blank holder. The blank holder is normally held raised by cushion means in such a position that its top surface is lower than the crest of the convex top surface of the lower die. The blank support lever arm is normally biased to a horizontal position to support a blank in a horizontal position in co-operation with the crest of the lower die and is tilted down by the upper die in downstroke movement out of its path, allowing the blank to be pressed down.
