  • Patent number: 9070414
Abstract: The present invention relates to a playback apparatus, a playback method, a program, a recording medium, and a data structure that enable interactive operations when playing back AV content. A controller 34 obtains an order list of audio stream numbers in advance. In response to an instruction to switch audio by a user, the controller obtains the audio stream number subsequent to the audio stream number which is being played back. It is then checked whether a stream that is found to be playable by the playback apparatus is included in a main clip or a sub clip, and the main clip referred to by the Main Path is read together with the clip in which the corresponding audio stream is multiplexed. Then, the audio stream file of the corresponding clip and the file to be played back included in the main clip are selected by the switches 57 through 59, and 77. The selected files are combined by a video data processor 96 and an audio data processor 97, and the combined data is output.

  • Patent number: 9037867
Abstract: A configuration for achieving efficient content verification processing based on hash values is provided. Hash values of hash units set as segmented data of a content stored on an information storage medium are recorded in a content hash table and are stored on the information storage medium together with the content. An information processing apparatus for executing content playback executes hash-value comparison processing based on one or more randomly selected hash values. Regardless of the data amount of content, the configuration can perform hash-value determination and comparison processing based on hash units having a small amount of data, so that user equipment for executing content playback can perform efficient content verification.

  • Patent number: 8942546
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, as a recording apparatus, formulates a Clip Information file of a still picture file (TS file), made up by plural still pictures, and a PlayList, composed of plural PlayItems, indicating the replay path of a slide show, and records the information on a DVD along with the TS file. The Clip Information file has an EP_map, as a table indicating the relationship of correspondence between the value of the presentation time stamp PTS of the transport stream TS and the source packet number SPN in the TS the PTS value indicates. The information processing apparatus, as a reproducing apparatus, reads out and reproduces the data address of the TS, represented by the replay start time IN_time and the replay end time OUT_time of the PlayItem.

  • Patent number: 8929540
Abstract: To provide a configuration in which a unit classification number corresponding to a content playback path is set based on various units. A unit classification number defining a playback path of content including encrypted data having different variations generated by encrypting a segment portion which forms the content by using a plurality of segment keys and encrypted content generated by encrypting a non-segment portion by a unit key is set based on various units, such as a content management unit and an index. In a CPS unit key file storing key generating information concerning CPS units as content management units, settings of unit classification numbers are indicated. Based on the CPS unit key file, a unit classification number to which content to be played back belongs can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 8897376
Abstract: A video stream is encoded with a prediction mode of which a picture later than an I picture in the display order is predicted from a picture earlier than the I picture in the display order and recorded on a record medium so that the video stream reproduced from the record medium is randomly accessible. When a video stream is encoded, the prediction mode of which a picture later than an I picture in the display order is predicted from a picture earlier than the I picture in the display order is prohibited. In addition, EP_map that correlates reproduction time information of an I picture to a packet number of the I picture is created and recorded on the record medium along with a packetized encoded stream. When the video stream is reproduced, EP_map is searched for a packet number corresponding to a designated reproduction time. Corresponding to the obtained packet number, decoding of an encoded stream reproduced from the record medium is controlled.

  • Patent number: 8868904
Abstract: A configuration is provided wherein usage restrictions of an application are determined in accordance with timestamps. A certificate revocation list (CRL) in which the revocation information of a content owner who is a providing entity of an application program recorded in a disc is recorded is referred to verify whether or not a content owner identifier recorded in an application certificate is included in the CRL, and in the case that the content owner identifier is included in the CRL, comparison between a timestamp stored in a content certificate and a CRL timestamp is executed, and in the case that the content certificate timestamp has date data equal to or later than the CRL timestamp, utilization processing of the application program is prohibited or restricted. According to the present configuration, a configuration is realized wherein an unrevoked application is not subjected to utilization restriction, and only a revoked application is subjected to utilization restriction.

  • Patent number: 8861928
Abstract: The present invention facilitates reading in advance information on addresses where data of each reproduction path to be reproduced is stored. Clip AV stream 1 to Clip AV stream 3 of angles forming a multiangle are managed by PlayList#1 to PlayList#3 for the different angles. Each of PlayList#1 to PlayList#3 is divided by angle change points. Each of the divided reproducing sections corresponds to a PlayItem. Correspondences between source packet numbers and presentation time stamps of the angle change points are recorded in an EP_map. The present invention is applicable to DVD recording and reproducing apparatus, for example.

  • Patent number: 8824868
Abstract: A playback apparatus includes an obtaining unit obtaining playback management information including a main playback path of a main stream set, a first sub playback path of a first sub-stream set, and a second sub playback path of a second sub-stream set. The first and second sub playback paths are allowed for a predetermined category. A selection-receiver receives a selection of streams as a first combination or a second combination. A reading unit reads the corresponding stream sets according to whether the first or second combination is selected. A playback unit plays back the main stream set and the first or second sub-stream set. The number of files that are readable at one time is predetermined. • Patent number: 8818170
Abstract: For a content-prerecorded large capacity disc-shaped recording medium, a user interface having high flexibility is accomplished. Button image data, corresponding sound data as an effect sound, and control commands for the sound data and image data are multiplexed with a stream and recorded on the disc. A scenario reproduced from the disc is stored in a buffer. The image data and sound data are stored in a buffer. Image data is read from the buffer in accordance with a scenario and expanded to a graphics plane. In addition, corresponding sound data is read from the buffer and reproduced by a sound player. When a button image is varied in accordance with a state change of the button, an effect sound is reproduced. As a result, a more effective user interface is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 8811796
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and a method determining a data arrangement that guarantees seamless reproduction even in a case of occurrence of a jump in a browsable slide show. An allowable jump range between an image data clip and an audio data clip required for data reading in the browsable slide show in which a consecutive reproduction processing of a still image and an audio reproduction processing are performed in parallel is determined so as to determine arrangement conditions of data to be stored in an information recording medium on the basis of the determined allowable jump range. This configuration enables the browsable slide show to be carried out as a seamless reproduction processing without any data discontinuity. Furthermore, it becomes possible to provide a plurality of combinations of readout rates of the audio data and image data.
