A second plier body includes a first end with a slot and a second end that cooperates with the second end of the first plier body for exerting a force on an object between the second end of the first plier body and the second end of the second plier body. The second plier body further includes a mediate portion with a third pivotal section in pivotal engagement with the first pivotal section of the first plier body. The mediate portion of the first plier body and the mediate portion of the second plier body together define a compartment. A third plier body includes a second handle attached to a first end thereof and a second end with a rocker movably received in the compartment. The rocker is in pivotal connection with the second pivotal section of the first plier body.

The locking device includes a tunnel defined in the joint so that an axis of the tunnel is parallel to that of the cavity. A latch defines at least one notch. The latch is movable in the tunnel between a locking position and a releasing position. The locking device includes at least one truncated conical hole through which the cavity is communicated with the tunnel. The at least one truncated conical hole includes a first end at the cavity and a second end at the tunnel.

A cover plate is mounted to the first and the second piler members and includes two holes through which the engaging pin and the pivot extend, respectively. The engaging pin and the pivot are riveted to securely hold the first and the second plier members together.

Abstract: A socket wrench comprises a handled hollow head receiving a torque transmitting sleeve member which is provided with peripheral teeth to engage with inwardly extending teeth of the hollow head. The teeth of both the hollow head and the sleeve member are elongated axially and formed in such a manner that their height from their intermediate portion gradually reduces towards the two ends thereof and their intermediate portion is notched to receive a C-shaped locking ring that interengages the hollow head and the sleeve member. The teeth can engage with each other when the handle is turned upward or downward to cause the axis of the hollow head to incline the axis of the sleeve, and to disengage from each other when the axis of the hollow head is in alignment with that of the sleeve.
