    Abstract: A document managing system includes: a document managing device that forms and manages, in a case where an instruction for printing and outputting a plurality of copies of a document is received from a user, identifying codes respectively corresponding to a plurality of copies of printed matters of one document related to the instruction, and that attaches the identifying codes to the printed matters respectively corresponding thereto; and a discarding device that has a mechanism discarding the printed matters to read the identifying codes attached to the printed matters and inform the document managing device of the read identifying codes in a case where the printed matters are discarded.
