Patent number: 11997054Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for resource allocation in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. A relay node in an IAB network may be assigned a first resource partition that is different from a second resource partition for the child and parent nodes. Based on a resource configuration (e.g., for a slot) of the second resource partition, the relay node may opportunistically utilize the second resource partition for communications. For instance, the relay node may determine a direction table based on the resource configurations of the child and parent nodes, which may be used to perform uplink or downlink communications in one or more symbols of the second resource partition. The relay node may also identify flexible symbols as free or non-free when determining the direction table.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 28, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Jianghong Luo, Navid Abedini, Bilal Sadiq, Muhammad Nazmul Islam, Junyi Li, Karl Georg Hampel, Hong Cheng

Patent number: 11989927Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for detecting a keypoint based on deep learning robust to scale changes based on information change across receptive fields. The apparatus for detecting a keypoint based on deep learning robust to scale changes based on information change across receptive fields includes a feature extractor for extracting a feature from an input image based on a pre-trained deep learning neural network, an information accumulation pyramid module for outputting, from the feature, at least two filter responses corresponding to receptive fields having different scales, an information change detection module for calculating an information change between the at least two filter responses, a keypoint detection module for creating a score map having a keypoint probability of each pixel based on the information change, and a continuous scale estimation module for estimating a scale of a receptive field having a biggest information change for each pixel.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignees: ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY (ITU)Inventors: Yong-Ju Cho, Jeong-Il Seo, Rehan Hafiz, Mohsen Ali, Muhammad Faisal, Usama Sadiq, Tabasher Arif

Patent number: 11974321Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a random access (RACH) procedure based on a selected synchronization signal block (SSB). During this RACH procedure, a base station may transmit physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) messages for UE RACH message handling. To receive PDCCH signaling for RACH Messages 2, 3, or 4 (Msg 2/3/4), the UE may identify a set of time resources used by the base station for transmitting SSBs that are not quasi-co-located (QCL) with the selected SSB. The UE may identify a Msg 2/3/4 search space that does not overlap with this identified set of resources, and may monitor this identified search space. The search space may correspond to a modified remaining minimum system information (RMSI) search space indicated by the base station, or a valid RMSI search space not indicated by the base station.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2019Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Muhammad Nazmul Islam, Bilal Sadiq, Navid Abedini, Heechoon Lee, Tao Luo

Patent number: 11963025Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, first component carrier may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and second component carrier may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier or a different MMW carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for first component carrier (on second component carrier), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on second component carrier. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on first component carrier for second component carrier beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on second component carrier may be used to perform the beam recovery for first component carrier.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2022Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Bilal Sadiq, Linhai He, Muhammad Nazmul Islam, Sundar Subramanian, Tianyang Bai

Patent number: 11123100Abstract: An ultrasonically actuated medical implement is used in improving medical interventions and in certain instances to the generation of image data, in particular data acquired during a medical intervention or procedure. The medical implement employs a piezoelectric element which causes reciprocation between first and second mass assemblies in order to ultrasonically actuate a probe member and improve the visibility of the probe member to imaging methods. The invention also concerns the visibility of structures in target regions to be imaged and how this may be enhanced using the medical implement of the invention.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2014Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: UNIVERSITY COURT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEEInventors: Muhammad Sadiq, Sandy Cochran, Zhihong Huang, George Corner, Graeme McLeod, Patrick Carena

Patent number: 9440829Abstract: In some aspects, an in-line passive heave compensator system includes a damper actuator, a fluid vessel, and a hydraulic manifold. The damper actuator extends and retracts in response to an external dynamic load, and the fluid vessel transfers hydraulic fluid between itself and the damper actuator (e.g., back and forth) as the damper actuator extends and retracts. The hydraulic manifold provides the channel of fluid transfer between the damper actuator and the fluid vessel. The hydraulic manifold includes an extension flow control device in an extension fluid path between the damper actuator and the fluid vessel. The extension fluid path receives fluid flow only during extension of the damper actuator. The hydraulic manifold includes a retraction flow control device in a retraction flow path between the damper actuator and the fluid vessel. The retraction flow path receives fluid flow only during the retraction of the damper actuator.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2014Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: MHD Offshore Group SDN.
