  • Publication number: 20230275606
Abstract: Methods, devices, and system related to wireless communications are disclosed. In one example aspect, a device for wireless communication includes a processor that is configured to determine an estimation of an interference signal for a connection between the device and a receiving device in a wireless communication system, construct an interference elimination signal based on the estimation of the interference signal, and perform a data transmission to the receiving device with the interference elimination signal to enable the receiving device to eliminate the interference signal in the data transmission. The estimation of the interference signal is determined by building a probabilistic model of the interference signal using at least an interference template associate with a characteristic of the device or one or more measurements of a channel condition collected within a predefined observation window.

  • Publication number: 20230275933
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of reducing disruption in a cellular network. The method includes receiving a node table including IMS nodes. The IMS nodes include nodes designated as voice nodes and nodes designated as message nodes. The method includes transmitting the node table to user devices in the cellular network, and receiving a first register request from a user device including an IP address of a message node. In response to receiving the first register request, the method includes transmitting the first register request to the IP address of the message node included in the first register request, and receiving a second register request from the user device, the second register request including an IP address of a voice node. The method includes transmitting the second register request to the IP address of the at least one of the one or more voice nodes included in the second register request.

  • Publication number: 20230276273
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhancing radio base station performance measurements with additional granularity. Radio base station key performance indicators (KPIs) are provided that may be broken down by user equipment (UE) type or model, public land mobile network (PLMN) identification (ID), service type, and the like. To do so, the attributes in radio resource control (RRC) messages between UEs & 4G/5G base stations (i.e., an eNodeB or a gNodeB) can be leveraged to define key flags from different signaling steps and enrich KPI pegging. The key flags from the various RRC signaling steps can be used by counters, at the base station, to identify various key service and network level KPI metrics based on UE type or model, PLMN ID, service type, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20230269000
Abstract: The disclosed system receives, from a controller associated with an unmanned vehicle, a first instruction to deliver to the unmanned vehicle. The first instruction is delivered to a network through a radio frequency channel associated with the network. The controller provides a coverage area in which the controller can directly communicate with the unmanned vehicle, however, the unmanned vehicle is outside of the coverage area associated with the controller. The system converts the first instruction received through the radio frequency channel to a second instruction encoded in a second medium. The system delivers the second instruction to the unmanned vehicle using a first antenna operating in the second medium. The unmanned vehicle includes a receiver configured to operate in the second medium. The first antenna is oriented to provide coverage in a geographical area in which the network does not provide radio frequency coverage.

Abstract: Providing a data traffic session over a wireless network using service-aware traffic session timers includes: receiving, from a user equipment (UE), at a wireless network node, a session message for the data traffic session; based on at least content within the session message, determining a data traffic session type; based on at least the data traffic session type and a stage of the data traffic session, selecting a timer value from a set of timer values, the set of timer values each specific to a type of data traffic session; and based on a timer at the wireless network node reaching the selected timer value, performing a predetermined timer expiration action for the data traffic session. In some examples, the data traffic session type may be a non-emergency voice call, an emergency call, a video call, a wireless customer service call, or a messaging session.

  • Patent number: 11714177
Abstract: In various embodiments, a system for identifying a vertical height of a user equipment using network-side components, instead of device-side components, is described. The system may include a fixed antenna of a node and a processor. The antenna sends a first beam having a first set of beam characteristics and receives a first signal strength indication from the user equipment based upon the first beam. The antenna then sends a second beam having a second set of beam characteristic and receives a second signal strength indication from the user equipment based upon the second beam. The processor may then analyze the first signal strength and the second signal strength to determine the vertical height of the user equipment, such as by a trigonometric calculation based upon an inclination of the beams and various known distances.

  • Publication number: 20230224206
Abstract: Systems may comprise a connectivity manager application operating on a User Equipment (UE) for optimal and secure performance of local applications and improving user experience by optimizing application performance (e.g., detecting data stall events). • Publication number: 20230155863
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing channel estimation in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) based cellular radio technology (e.g., 4G, 5G). Initially, the reference transmission receive power (RSRP) is reported for each antenna element, rather than as a single RSRP. This enables the base station to understand the channel condition for each MIMO transmission/reception. Using that understanding, the base station can determine the radio-frequency (RF) power level per antenna port to provide more enhanced transmission towards a specific UE, resulting in a better service experience. In other words, more accurate channel estimation based on actual RF conditions of a particular UE can be derived so the base station can tune to the actual need of the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230156048
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can determine when to send an initial request for a voice communication to an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core of a telecommunication network. For instance, the UE can identify when a call setup instruction should be sent to the IMS to cause a communication channel to be established. The UE can determine whether the UE will experience a change to another radio frequency band or radio technology based on test data, and delay sending the call setup instruction for a time period during which the test data can be analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20230140564
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically adjusting a 4G LTE reference signal power level to match a 5G New Radio (NR) coverage footprint to avoid voice over 4G fallback failures for 5G subscribers. Initially, a subscriber making a voice call while in NR coverage may be directed to fall back to LTE in a process known as voice over evolved packet system fallback (VoEPSFB). If the LTE signal strength is worse due to non-optimal settings of the LTE reference signal, the subscriber experiences call setup failure. After the call setup failure, the UE transitions back to the gNodeB. Since the gNodeB knows the UE attempted to fall back to LTE (as well as how soon the UE transitioned back to the gNodeB), a notification is triggered that instructs the LTE base station to increase its reference signal power level.

  • Publication number: 20230126490
Abstract: Systems, devices, and techniques described herein relate to use of an optimized security mode command (SMC) procedure for securing communications. When connecting to a different cellular network (e.g., from a 5th generation (5G) Radio Access Network (RAN)) to a different cellular network (e.g., a 4th generation (4G) RAN), a User Equipment (UE) performs the SMC procedure without processing subsequent commands until a period of time has elapsed. Instead of allowing the UE to process subsequent commands received close in time to receiving the SMC, the subsequent commands may be delayed/suspended so that the UE has time to perform the SMC procedure and establish secure communications with the 4G LTE network. According to some examples, the delay is set to a period of time (e.g., 1 ms, 10 ms, or some other value) such that the subsequent command does not interfere with performing the SMC procedure.
