  • Publication number: 20220187815
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and predicting faults in an industrial process automation system use trend data to forecast alerts and allow action to be taken before a problem occurs. The systems and methods provide fault/failure predictions that improve over time as more empirical data is collected for a related set of system components. The systems and methods may identify relationships among the components of a process automation system; identify and collect changes to system configuration; identify and collect data to inform reliability and predictive models; develop a domain-specific predictive model for one or more components that allows for component-based failure or degradation prediction; develop a system-predictive model that leverages reliability and criticality relationships, component-based predictions and operating parameters to predict the health of a part of or the entire process automation system; deliver a prioritized alert system; and identify root-cause failures of a component.

  • Patent number: 9491055
Abstract: What is disclosed is a method of operating a communication network, where the communication network comprises a set of users. The method includes obtaining usage activity for each of the users of the set and processing the usage activity to determine connectivity information between individual ones of the users of the set. The method also includes processing the connectivity information to determine users of the set with similar connectivity, and processing the users of the set with similar connectivity to identify a community of users within the users of the set with similar connectivity. The method also includes monitoring at least one of the users in the community to determine if action is needed for at least another one of the users in the community.

  • Patent number: 8352299
Abstract: Systems and methods use behavioral data to assess listings for items. The behavior data may relate to information regarding user actions in connection with listings for the items. The listings may be collections of information about the items. Behavioral data in connection with a collection of listings is used to assess how changing listings affects one or more performance measures and/or to score listing quality. The assessment may be used for various purposes, such as identifying listings that may be changed to achieve one or more improved performance measures for corresponding items and for other applications.

  • Patent number: 8265992
Abstract: An embodiment of the current invention is directed to determining that a wireless-service subscriber using a given mobile computing device is likely to transition to another provider (“to churn”). A list of mobile computing devices that have communicated with the given mobile computing device is determined. A relationship-strength value for each mobile computing device in the list is determined. A risk value of the given mobile computing device is determined based on the relationship-strength values of each of the mobile computing devices in the list that have churned. If the risk value is not greater than a risk value threshold, the given mobile computing device is not likely to churn. If the risk value is greater than the risk value threshold, the given mobile computing device is likely to churn.

  • Patent number: 7744854
Abstract: This invention provides a method for a method for optimizing the regimen for the administration of chemotherapeutic agents. The method comprises administration of a selenium compound to an individual, monitoring the modulation of tumor vessel maturation (TVM) to identify an optimal time for administration of a chemotherapeutic agent. This invention also provides a method to determine whether or not a tumor is likely to be a responder to chemotherapy. The method comprises administration of a selenium compound to an individual and determining whether or not an increase in TVM is observed. An increased TVM following administration of selenium is an indication that the tumor will likely respond the chemotherapy.
