  • Patent number: 6574543
Abstract: The gearshift of an automatic transmission (25) connected to an engine is controlled by a transmission controller (15) in response to the vehicle speed and the accelerator pedal depression amount. The controller (11) calculates a transmission target automatic transmission output torque so that the vehicle speed coincides with a predetermined vehicle speed (17), and calculates the output torque of the engine based on the gear ratio and the transmission target output torque (27). The controller (11) determines whether or not the transmission target output torque is in a state in which a predetermined increase is not possible (21). When the transmission target output torque is in the state in which a predetermined increase is not possible, the controller (11) limits the transmission target automatic transmission output torque (17, 17B) and controls the output torque of the engine based on the limited transmission target output torque (19A, 20, 21).

  • Patent number: 6560522
Abstract: A driving force control apparatus is configured to prevent degradation of acceleration performance and the occurrence of large torque shock when shifting from the non-execution to the execution of a driving force control operation. A first target driving force is selected when the driving force control operation is being executed and a second target driving force is selected when the driving force control operation is not being executed. When shifting from the execution to the non-execution, the shifting target driving force is calculated such that the driving force shifts slowly. When accelerating from rest or a slow speed, the speed at which the driving force control operation shifts into the execution mode is increased as the accelerator position becomes larger.

  • Patent number: 6267095
Abstract: A disclosed control apparatus and method is applied to an internal combustion engine that is capable of switching between a stratified combustion and a homogeneous combustion, and which also has an EGR device prevented from performing EGR immediately after switching from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous combustion. In the disclosure, the transient condition in switching from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous combustion is detected, a residual EGR ratio of EGR gas remaining in an intake system of the internal combustion engine is calculated when the transient condition is detected, a lower limit value of a target equivalent ratio immediately after switching from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous combustion is variably set, in accordance with the residual EGR ratio, and the value of the target equivalent ratio immediately after switching from the stratified combustion to the homogeneous combustion is set to the set lower limit value.
